Could be better...

The only way it could be better is if it didn't exist at all. The King's legacy raped again. At least EPE will be earning a few dollars out of it, and we all know how much they need the money. Parasites.

Keep the remixes coming. The future for THE KING. This is a GREAT remix and deserves to do well.

Well, I can see the cover, but what happened to the a r t ? ;-)

I'm with Brian on this and as I have said many time before, it's not like they're erasing the orginal recordings. And if it puts Elvis' name in the spotlight again, can't see a problem. Certainly better than Rubber Ducks and all the other crap around.

Yeah, I'm with you Brian, keep Elvis in the forefront. For those who don't like it there is always the originals to fall back on.Pity there's no picture of our lad on the cover though.

Yes, let's support this rape of The King's music by computer geeks adding annoying, repetitive electronic noises to his music. You sad, mad fools make me puke.

It's infinitely better than that package of audio puke we'll be getting at Christmas. If you're going to do something new with the King's music then this is so much more palletable than the warbling duets concept.

This re-mix is an abomination and Spanky should be hung, drawn and quartered.

Oh dear Harvey - haven't we got a one track mind. Never mind - you go off and puke in a dark room. I'll listen to Elvis' original and enjoy it, then I'll listen to the revamped version, and enjoy that too - maybe not quite as much as the original - but hey, if it gets other members of the public interested in the great man's original music, then I call that a bonus.

The SUN songs are classics and should not be messed with. Part of their beauty lies in their simplicty. Three guys making musical magic & changing history in a small studio. Their sound has never been equaled. I agree with Harvey here. These songs are too precious (as are other 50's classics) to add all the techno BS to them. That being said, I have no problem with remixes of some of Elvis' later less known studio recordings from say 1969 onward. Songs like Power Of My Love, If You Talk In Your Sleep, even Way Down could use new arrangements and could be hits if treated properly. I wish I could do it!

You know, at first, I wasn't much into the idea of remixing the early stuff from the 50s. I was concerned about losing that freshness in the sound, the thing that made Elvis sound different from anyone else. However, I was playing this Spankox remix just the other day when my 13 year old niece came in and asked me what the music was. I am only 32 myself, but amongst the 'younger' generation in my family, I am considered a bit of an oddball for listening to 'old' music like Elvis. Well, wouldn't you know it, but now this song has got my niece and her friends listening to the original music as well. I know there's a lot of you out there who don't want any tinkering with the music, but I am just a little bit grateful to Spankox who got at least 10 thirteen year olds listening to Elvis.
