UK #1 Hits Box Preview And Quiz Announcement

December 31, 2004 | Music
Here is a preview of the CD-single version of the 18 UK #1 Hits box set. This Dutch edition comes with a collectable pin featuring the logo of this special series.

Each single comes with the original US cover art (front and back) as a slipcase and the UK cover around the single. The CD itself is presented as a vinyl single, including the vinyl grooves! The stickers with the bar-code are made to be removed to keep as close as possible to the original design.

Starting the new year ElvisNews.com and BMG Nederland will offer you a chance to win a new CD-single each week, and one lucky winner will win the CD-singles complete box after all singles have been released (and put Elvis back on the charts).

If you can’t wait that long, you can order the complete sets on CD or vinyl using the links below.

I am just back from Buying the CD format of the box and Jailhousr Rock. Well seems they have let us down again. All the advertising said that the Vinyl version of the singles would be housed in an American picture cover and then the UK sleeve inside. Not so im afraid, it has just the UK cover . The CD versions are very eye catching. Only thing is, in my HMV store here in Belfast, Ireland I had to ask for the Jailhouse Rock single and when I did I was told that it was inside the box along with All Shook Up . After I put the mis informed Shop assistant right I had to go on and explain to him that JR shold be the one on display as it has the potential to chart, it only resulted in a blank stare from the shop assistant ! So dosent matter if they are eye catching if they are not on display then we have no chance of charting these singles to number one.

Yes Rob, I had the same let down experience. I think that BMG released so much PR that it kinda clouded the picture. I have re-read one article and it does NOT mention that the vinyl would be in picture sleeves. But I know quite a few fans who were expecting them to have one. I also had to ask for another copy of JHR as the first copy given to me had a split in the bottom of the bag. But maybe that was to make it look like an old record as the photocopied creases do. Strange though, 'cos when I bough a brand new release all those years ago, the sleeve was virtually perfect!! Mike

Channel 4 in British TV just had a very good feature on Elvis and the singles on the Richard and Judy show. Very good indeed it was too. Showed clips of "The come back " and "Aloha" dvds plus " Love me Tender" . They had nothing but praise for Elvis and advertised the singles in a positive way. Of course though there was the ass of an impersonater included in the guest line up, half bald to o!! Apart from the wannabe it was all very positive, good one Channel 4.
