This is at least the 3rd release date announced. I'd like to tell the guys behind this: A little less conversation and a little more action, please !

Well, I'd like to buy this, but GBP 160 is too expensive for me- that's over $230 in the US!

I can't remember the last time I've looked forward to an Elvis release this much. We're almost there.

Where can I buy this release ?
Jyroflux wrote on February 14, 2009
No mention of quality. Full frame? Widescreen? Anamorphic? Certainly not in surround sound and most probably youtube quality. For $230? Nope.

Yeah, I'm going to wait for the reviews to come in before I fork out that kind of cash. I was also excited to hear about the MSG DVD, which by the reviews was a bomb. This is too much to pay unless it's a top notch release. So I'll sit, and I'll wait. If the reviews are what I hope they will be, but probably wont be, then I'll order one but not before. No way!

Are you guys kidding? There are only 999 copies made worldwide. Many fans paid for the box in november already. This box was sold out months ago. If you want now or later buy a copy, you must track down cdr's and dvdr 's !! So you can't wait for a review, it's already much too late to order it.

Will consider this after reviews are published, have pre-ordered it but can cancel anytime I want as I didnt pay advance money. Will probably not buy it as the samples from the audio cds was not as good as expected (not multitrack but rather mono soundboard sound)

Ronaldv, if it sold out months ago, then why did I get an ad from the producers in my email only two days ago giving me order information and trying to get me to buy it? I say it's a safe bet that there are still some available, and sorry but I'm not going to pay that much for something on a hope that it's good. The packaging looks great, but you don't watch or listen to packaging. It's what's inside that counts. I think a good move would have been for the producers to send an advance copy to get reviewed independently. Then I would have considered it, but sight unseen and not one review of it? Nope. Not a chance. I'll play my odds. If it turns out to be a gem one will pop up for me to buy at some point somewhere I'm sure. If it's as good as advertised it's worth waiting for, and I'll pick one up later. You sound like you ordered it btw, so once you get it make sure to post an objective review of it somewhere will you?

I pre ordered it months ago, this set was due to come out last november. Luckely I dit not pay it in advance. Maybe they have some canceled orders because of impatient fans. I was told from reliable sources that this gem is a real winner, a lot of great unreleased shows from august 70 released at once. I'm pretty convinced that this gem is worth at least the double price in a couple of years...Look what the fort baxter's profile boxes are worth today.

regarding the pictures that are used for the front and the side of the cover, it brings nothing new (in quality)..

No thanks,im sure Ftd will relase at least one more show from aug 70 as for the dvd's i dont trust it,import dvd's never seem to turn out the way the import cd's do,there should be a real set an official set just like for On Tour, i guess in a way i have lost alot of interest,Elvis products rarely are what they could or should be!

This is only just out! Some rumours are circulating that the current number of sets being issued may well be in fact not 1,000, but 1,500. The story goes that originally even more were to be made available, with possibly 2,500 being issued, & an unknown dealer taking a large number of the extra copies; but for various reasons, possibly financial, this did not happen. Of course more sets could still be pressed, but as with the "Extra" BMG singles from their 18 Number Ones set in 2005, this couldn't happen overnight – doubtless discs are pressed in one area, artwork in another & this also involves a book. But if it goes well, who knows what the final figure could be! It's meant to be very expensive, so looking on the bright side there might well be enough for everyone who can actually afford it. (& no, I'm afraid I don't know where you can get this!)

I heard it is going to cost $250.00. Again, will the quality be worth it and how much new footage will there be? Thats a lot of money.
mature_elvis_fan75 wrote on February 21, 2009

People cant post were to buy these kind of items since there not official products, you will have to do a little detective work to find them i guess!
mature_elvis_fan75 wrote on February 28, 2009
Why cant there be anything complete when it comes to Elvis release, why could there have not been one complete show from these shows? everything is chopped up,for those who want this set and can afford, enjoy, just sad that there will never be a official release that lives up to these great shows, same with On tour!
King Tutt wrote on March 01, 2009
I have searched, since November without success! Suddenly like a bolt from the blue 15 copies available on an auction website! I snapped one up for £200 and really praying that it's not coming from Nigeria! Delivery should be Monday so hopefully I can post more details in the week.

I have just browsed through the set. The packaging is superb, puts bmg/ftd to shame, great notes, great pics, no rogue pictures from frankie and johnny messing things up!. First up, MGM didn't film a complete show but the guys have done their best to give the impression it exists. The picture quality is excellent, not mgm quality but the best your gonna get, the sound, even from the 3 shows bmg have yet to release is great and all footage has been overdubbed with the correct sound. Most, but not all, the video is in split screen using 3 available camera angles and again most but not all has the turner copyright logo displayed. There is a lot of footage new to these eyes especially the between songs banter. I think the set is great, the producers have put love and care into the product, which nobody ever seems to do with Elvis product. Is it worth £200? probably not! £100 definately yes! Whatever you pay, if you can get it, you will love it. I promise
