OK... another disaster for my bank account. The bomus ;-) disc may be a "must have" for fans.

2 things, ONLY 8 bonus tracks??? And I have a suspicion that the unreleased tracks can be found on FTD cd's. Unreleased for the general public, but not unreleased for the Elvis collector.

Each to their own, anyone who buys this, I hope you enjoy it. Me personally, this release does absolutely nothing for me at all. I'll wait till I'm 375 for the CBS 77 Deluxe DVD !!

SAme songs as always, why do they bother releasing the same songs over and over and over again? Are people really that stupid.

In answer to cathyreno. it wouldnt be the same with out you is a personal record made by Elvis after making My happiness it is allady available on a few cds. And why are there no songs after 1973 on this 1st cd does this mean presley by the presleys stoped in 1973 we all know EPE think ELVIS died in 1973 he still did alot of good work in those last 4 years and yes it is about time cbs 77 was released in all its glory along with ELVIS on Tour

So Mark, is the quality simliar to the quality of 'private elvis' home recordings from the army?? Not a bad cd. I have CBS specials on VCD quality ok sound ok. Elvis brilliant as always, yes I would like to see CBS tours remastered. T C B

Looking at the tracklisting, I guess and I could be wrong, but this is a typical EPE compilation of 1954 onwards, grounding to a halt at Aloha 1973. Maybe ''My Way'' is from 1977 but I doubt it, otherwise they would use it at the Elvis The Concerts. Considering the sheer volume of brilliant Elvis work right up until 1977, this is a pretty awful selection of songs. How many times do you have to keep listening to Bridge Over Troubled Water, Youve Lost That Lovin Feeling and Jailhouse Rock etc etc. And not a song from The Jungle Sessions, thats criminal !

I would assume 'BWYWMTD' & 'I'm So Lonesome' are the versions already released on the Private Moments cd (Linda Thompson Home Recs 1973)???

I will buy the album because I think it will be a minor hit due to the publicity of the series. While these are "the same old tracks" for fans, for the uninitiated many of these tracks will in fact be new. If I can contribute towards making this a hit then I will gladly do so.

Forgot to mention: I'm just glad Old Shep didn't make it on to this cd. That would have been my worst nightmare.

It's interesting that there are a few covers on there that might appeal to the general public (Bridge, Welcome To My World, My Way). I've always thought that an album of Elvis covering other peoples songs would do very well as a general release. People would know the name of Elvis, know the songs but wouldn't already have Elvis singing them - could be a big seller if the tunes were well selected (Sweet Caroline, Proud Mary, Bridge, Without Love, You Don't Know Me, Johnny B Goode, Long Tall Sally, Runaway, Lovin' Feelin, She Wears My Ring, And I Love You So, Promised Land etc). Would make a good 70s album and would show that he wasn't washed up by that time to the powers that be.

Baby what do you want me to do could be from the1968 dressing room rehersals. I agree with jim same old songs they could have done better on a release as big as this one

Starts out ok, but then goes down hill fast as to song selections. Where's Don't Be Cruel? (Or did I miss it?) Oh yes and by 1973 Priscilla was no longer his wife, I believe. I'll pass. More of the same crap over and over. Both FTD and BMG are obviousily out of viable new song material I would say.

A bit disappointing I think, but hey... the songlist isn't about me. It's about Prisc & Lisa (I hope). I'll buy it anyway.

Cruiser621 - we might all be getting fed up with repeated songs being released on albums, but to say "the same old crap" is really not on. Are you really implying that Heartbreak Hotel, In the Ghetto, Suspicious Minds etc are "crap"? Maybe you should re-word your comments.
