Elvis Presley, Elton John, and Madonna are among the top U.K. singles artists in the 50-year history of the British chart, according to the latest edition of the Guinness Book Of Hit Singles.
Presley ranks as the top male; Madonna is the top female. Surprisingly, the Beatles only come in at Number Nine. The top group honor goes to the Shadows, the band that often backed British singer Cliff Richard, who lands just above them on the list in the Number Two spot.
