I went in HMV in Preston today, they had no Elvis Cd's or 10 inch records on display.I asked at the counter and the assistant produced 12 copies of His Latest Flame! What the hell are they doing behind the counter? This has happened a number of times at this particular branch. How on earth do fans buy the items when they are hidden from view. What is going on with these major retailers?

It's a conspiricy oldshep..they only want crap in the charts these day's, Elvis excluded of course. I haven't heard one Elvis track played since the start of the re-relase of these singles,it's all b*****k's. I hate today's music, apart from G4 if you know them.

Mofoca22 , most of the other people on the chart are VERY popular, and actually , many of them are American acts. The problem with Americans is that they think that there is no world outside of America. That is not t knock on you, just a fact about Americans not knowing much about other countries music ,as compaired with how much other countries know about american music. Stereophonics in particular are very popular.

there has to me seemed to be an uninterest in the charts as if a lot have given up . dont there is nothing wrong with coming second and third or in the top ten . keep your chins up .

Mofoca: you are American, so you live in a "closed" country, not aware about the outside world (we are around 6 billions overthere, don't you know ?). Not a good point for you, so maybe you could avoid this kind of statement, that gives a very bad image of your country. Those artists you're not aware of, are famous in U.K., like others are famous in Germany, others in Italy, others in France, and so on... Is this hard to understand ?

Dear Mofocca22: There is a world outside of the USA, far away from the constraints of the FBI and CIA where freedom if speech is a REAL freedom. It is amazing that Elvis has dominated the up to 15% of our UK top 40 for the past two months, with Elvis occupying top three places throughout. When "Conversation" was released over here it topped the SALES charts for a month and sold nearly three quarters of a million copies. When released in the US I belive it sold around 80,000. We will all be interested to see just how successful the US number 1s perform Stateside - I don't see any Top 20 positions do you? #89 in the Gospel chart is about the best you guys can do. Sopmetimes I reflect and think that it's a shame Elvis lived in the US because if he had lived over here we would have bloody well looked after him. Please don't get me wrong I love the USA, and I love you people, but your understanding of what happens in the outside world is almost zero. I watched an anchor on FOX News ask her co-host "where on earth is the Netherlands?"

i went in2 an HMV yesterday and looked at the section where they display the chart positions and new releases, NO.19 and NO.20 were AFSAI and INON??? However, in the NO.3 spot where Marie should be was...ELV1S!!! i asked the guy what was going on and he said that they don`t know when, or IF, they will get anymore single releases, and it is cheaper for people to just buy the album! i`m all for album sales, but it`s the singles that count and, basically, i left the store with the hump... not, though. before positioning all copies of ELV1S in the NO.1 slot, on top of whatever his name is...

Have not got a copy of Rock-A-Hula Baby yet in Aberdeen, went to Asda today none there, but I found 2 copies of Surrender hidden behind some unknown chart hits, and the No. I got 04991 was on the shelf on the actual week it was released but it was just an empty sleeve and I was told then the 2 copies had been stolen. Funny they now appear after the chart week when I wanted it. No answer was available. just a shrug of the shoulders. Anyway our man will always be NUMBER ONE who will here of these unknowns in 28 years time. So Elvis fans to be able to compete today and to have got the sales he has is brilliant. But I think there has been some unfair dealing going on as all music must be available to the customer not hidden behind the counter.
