The Man And His Music #81

August 31, 2008 | Other

The new issue of the mother of all Elvis magazines arrived yesterday. Next to the usual stuff like news, CD, DVD and book reviews, letters the main attractions are this time: a long article on the Memphis charity shows in 1961, an interview with Charlie McCoy and an article by Phil Gerlormine on the Philadelphia shows in 1974. Also Keith Flynn's detective ear results in a pleasant read in It's Midnight... or is it the Dinner Show? (Part 3).

One of thier best issues in a long time. Loved the 1961 feature & my buddy Phil Gelormine's contribution. As usual they are right on with the FTD CD reviews, especially Love Letters. Best Elvis publication in the world.

SO glad they dug into the two 1961 Memphis charity shows. Very interresting article indeed. "Man And His Music" is definately the best Elvis publication in the world! Hope someone picks up the idea and writes a book on Elvis' three 1961 charity shows (the Honolulu show included).

the memphis shows article was superb however i actually think the gelormie's article was pretty boring. a waste of 3 to 4 pages in my book but other than that another top notch magazine.
