The King's Dispute

May 10, 2001 | Other
Elvis Presley Enterprises is suing NBC, claiming the network aired images of his swaggering hips without requesting permission. The Elvis shots appeared on cable's MSNBC in such shows as "Headliners and Legends with Matt Lauer". NBC violated the copyright by showing clips from home movies and "The '77 Special", "Aloha From Hawaii" and "The '68 Comeback Special" the suit says. The Presley company said it planned to produce its own video history of Elvis and is seeking to bar MSNBC from airing any more shows featuring Elvis clips.
