The King Of Rock’n’Roll Cabernet Sauvignon, 2008

In a couple of weeks, a new bottle will be added to the already large Elvis wine cellar. The King Of Rock’n’Roll Cabernet Sauvignon, 2008 will be available from May till the end of the year. This is not just an average bottle of wine with a picture of Elvis on the label...it is a high quality wine. The distributor already won lots of prestigious awards with previous Elvis wines.

This has indeed nothing to do with Elvis, but if one likes it, well, no problem. To each his own.Always El.

Well, working full time in a christian ministry (I am not kidding) I would say this: Let Jesus turn the water into wine and let Elvis do the songs and we are fine...;-)

I am usually don't have a problem with whatever "Elvis" product a fan wants to buy and very few products offend me (I truly don't care if a non-Elvis fan makes fun of me for a product I own with his name on it, they would find something to poke fun at with or without the product, just like anyone can with any entertainer if you don't like them). This one however doesn't make much sense to me as I have never heard where Elvis was a big wine connoisseur. SuzieB makes a great point is there isn't any real connection you can make to Elvis with this product. If the wine bottle was in the shape of a guitar or something??? On second thought, no let's just leave Elvis out of the alcohol business.

I like them (haven't tasted the wine)...I recently bought them and they are on a wine rack on my table. I will definitely get this one when I see it.

This kind of stuff just makes me cringe. I don't want to hear whatever gets Elvis' name out there is good marketing. This just plain stinks and makes people laugh & make fun of Elvis. I know because I've heard it!

These wines are certainly not 'high quality', they are cheap value for money wines. For example The King Cabernet Sauvignon retails at around $12 a bottle - there is no such thing as a high quality $12 wine, esecially a $12 which also has to fund licensing costs to EPE! Try comparing this to another Cabernet Sauvignon (but a French one!) such as a Château Léoville Poyferré, which is incredible value for money at around £50 a bittle here in the UK. I actually think there is something unsavoury about the whole idea of Graceland Cellars, afterall, Elvis never drank wine, indeed, very little alcohol at all. So, in essence this becomes just another making ploy for EPE with no connection to Elvis whatsoever, other than quite ridiculous inept branding.
