When I saw "Queen City", I was excited because I thought maybe this would be a concert from the other "Queen City", Cincinnati. I was hoping that maybe it was an improved sound on the audience recording for the Nov '71 show from Cincy or even better, maybe they had found a tape source for the June of 73 Cincinnati concert. As it is, I wouldn't mind having this CD (if the sound is decent) as I don't currently have any concerts from the April of 73 tour. One side note, I still wish that Colonel Parker had allowed Elvis to tour right after the Aloha special as opposed to doing 58 shows in Vegas before touring. From most all accounts, Elvis was great on tour in April, June and July of 73 and somewhat lackluster at times in Vegas in Jan/Feb and Aug/Sept. Elvis was truly a great artist and those long Vegas engagements (after the first four in '69 and '70) seemed to zap him of some of his inspiration and magic. After the Aloha event, Elvis should have never been forced to go to Vegas again. He had conquered it and there was nothing left to prove there.

Heard a sound sample and it sounds a bit better..indeed..but it don´t have to be necessarily a complete new source...if you have the skills and equipment you can improve the sound easily and add an ending from another show..nowadays no problem..anyway....good show..

Nearly 2 months ago I was standing on top of that space needle in the picture and saw the giant arena where this concert took place.. But the When my blue moon turns to gold again boot will do fine for me, I'll keep that one.

O.K...the ending is longer..with closing vamp and announcement....so no lie..but we don`t really need it. Reportedly the sound is really better than on the previous release..I will let you know..the show itself is really goood..

The packaging looks good on this one, hopefully a different tape source has been found for the CD itself. I have the original release ("When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold Again") and the sound could only be described as average at best for an audience recording. It it quite hissy and bass heavy, Elvis sounds very distant so presumably it was recorded quite a way back in the concert hall. If a new tape is used, or a lower generation copy of the previously released one, and audio restoration is done, it could be OK. I must admit that I only ever played the CD once and then filed it away. I would not be without it, though, it is a small piece of the Elvis jigsaw.
