That’s the Way It Is - The Complete Shows

July 28, 2009 | Music

The International import label that recently brought to you the ‘Elvis – That’s the Way It Is - The Complete Works’ will release a DVD-only version of the editors cut entitled 'Elvis – That’s the Way It Is - The Complete Shows’. According to the press-release the set contains two dual-layered factory pressed DVD - equivalent to 4 DVD’s without loss of quality - filled with 6 hours of the complete shows with excellent edits, lots of amazing multi angle sequence shots that differ from the previous release.

Also for the first time ever, the complete ‘That’s The Way It Is’ shows will be in full stereo and in 5.1 Surround Sound. It also comes with an 8 page booklet insert. This is a very Limited Edition run of only 750 copies. Expected price to be around £25 - £30. This release will coincide with the other International release ‘Showroom Internationale 1971’ same date of release and is expected very shortly. These will be the last of the ‘International’ label releases.

Well, sounds a bit too good to be true this one. Anyone got the first release? Can we expect to receive exactly what is promised? Over to you!

So, first we have missed the stereo versions of the shows now we're going to loose the stereo versions of the DVDs. I have paid a a big price for this set but I feel a little dissapointed now. Not the best attitude from the International label.

I have the boxset The complete Works and I am very pleased with it. Now this. I had this kind of thing one time earlier and bought a stereo movie of Elvis' Charo!. A year later a very good 5.1 sound release came out I could buy. The mixing was awful. So I also do not expect much of this 5.1 mixing. But who am I? I hope for buyers that they do not get dissapointed as I am not with the complete works box I will not dismiss for anything else.

I sold my copy of TTWII complete works this week as I was totally disappointed with the mono sound when it should have been in stereo and bought the Audionics shows in instead ,i will be ordering this though at a fraction of the price of the complete works but why not include the rehearsals we would then have had all the film in one place, maybe that's too much to ask.

For the Colonel Parker-like "International" label, that is too much to ask. Look for a separate deluxe STEREO / 5.1 release (with "new" edits) of the TTWII Rehearsal DVD in early 2010! I agree with you all. As the old Buddy Guy blues tune goes, "I Smell A Rat"...!
