March 20, 2002 | Other
The King of Rock 'n' Roll gave his last concert at Market Square Arena on June 26, 1977. The arena was demolished last July. But the group plans to install the marker on June 26 in the downtown area. The marker will include a time capsule in which Elvis fans can leave personal remembrances for a fee. Also included will be a scarf given by Elvis to a fan at that last show. To support the initiative of the fans you can go to their website at www.elvisfantasyfest.com.

Tey are looking for funding for the Elvis Historical Marker for Market Square Arena and are asking for donations to pay for the Marker. It will cost $10,000. We are putting a time capsule in the marker along with a Scarf given by Elvis at that last concert to a fan. For $25 you can send a rememberence of Elvis to go in the time capsule with that scarf.
