I used to always give the benefit of the doubt to Sonny West in the past...but now it's over. For him to accept being the so-called technical adviser (what a joke) for such a piece of sh** proves that he's as shallow as Colonel was back in the sixties when he held the title of technical adviser on his own for all the crappy movies he gave to Elvis...The result will probably be as horrible as what Jonathan Meyers made a few years ago with his worthless miniseries...Makes Clambake look like a good movie !...

Another embarrassing film trying to cash in on Elvis' name. Because of the content & stupid idea, I hope it'll be another flop. You are right My Boy my Boy, "Clambake" does begin to look alot better. It's embarrassing that one of Elvis' bodyguards would even have a part in this garbage. Does anyone of these people have any respect for the fact that Elvis died? They are basically turning it into a circus for a quick buck. All this does is inflate the egos of the Elvis wannabes that had a part in this junk & keep Elvis to the level of tabloid trash. Maybe they should retitle this trash as "Elvis Wannabes 15 minutes in the Spotlight".

My boy, my boy - 100% agree. I even enjoyed his last book, but this just proves he's a joke.

Looks like a bit of a laugh to me, there is far worse out there. At least it'll give the Sonny Bashers some ammunition. I wouldn't take it too seriously though, I doubt if more than three people will see it anyway. Oh, by the way, I like Clambake. So much better than Kissin' Cousins.

Well, Viva, I have to hand it to you. You are absolutely right on about this. I just wish I could word my thoughts as well as you do! I don't even know 3 people who would see it!

Don´t know why the guys continues to take part in projects like this. I´m pretty sure that Sonny and Red did try to help Elvis when they wrote that book 30 years ago. But this film is something else. I really hate this kind of movies, they have been done before, and I just think it´s enough. There´s just too many books and movies with the memphis mafia.

People, did anybody think about the fact that maybe Sonny needs to make some money too? As far as I know he's not exactly a rich man. Yeah, the trailer for the movie is really bad, looks like it's been made with home video editing equipment, but if it was a good movie I see no problem having a little bit of fun w Elvis. Not everything has to be dead serious and a glorifying tribute to the "king of all kings"...

If Sonny had gotten off his dead butt & looked for a steady job years ago, he wouldn't be in this position. We all like to make money but some people spend more time trying to milk the golden cow rather than put in an honest day's work. And a film like that isn't funny. It's ridiculous. Elvis had a great sense of humor & an Elvis film doesn't have to be all glorious or doom/gloom. But it should certainly be professional & accurate. Blue Water Films? I hope that company isn't counting on this film putting them in the big league.

This is a really cute movie, low budget, dvd only. I admit it isn't high tech and their Elvis isn't the greatest, but can you imagine Elvis being frozen and coming back still young while everyone else has aged? Plus going to an ETA contest and being told he isn't good enough - the only touching part in the movie is when Sonny says "I never got a chance to say goodbye" and you can see his emotion. Lighten up guys - it's a comedy and it's not like these guys pay big bucks.
EspenK wrote on March 12, 2008
Bah, give the guy a break and a chance to earn a few bucks. His former employer has been dead for decades, Sonny is not. Just cause he's been working with Elvis ages ago doesnt mean he have to stay away from anything Elvis for the rest of his life while anyone else can release books and bootlegs and whatnot to cash in on Elvis' name.

Sandi, you are joking, right? Quote: "the only touching part in the movie is when Sonny says "I never got a chance to say goodbye" and you can see his emotion." Unquote. E-mo-ti-on, uh? Have you actually read "Elvis - What Happened"? Have you forgotten that Elvis, no matter how hurt he was and no matter how deep the knife of that back stabber hit him, tried to contact the Wests and make up -- as he always did? Instead of listening to their so-called friend (hah!), they went ahead and published that sleezy book. Sonny couldn't wait to finish him off. He had the smell of blood in his nose, he wanted his scalp, and now you're talking about e-mo-ti-on? Wake up to reality, honey. That guy killed Elvis and 30 years on, he's taking it a step further. Sonny West is the worst thing that happened to Elvis, thàt's what happened. He's a snake and we all know it.

Well, it just shows how low the "friend" of Elvis can go. I agree with Peter. They stuck the knife in in 1977 - it destroyed Elvis and hastened his decline. Elvis was worried about what the fans would think reading such a book. It was written to get back at Elvis. And after he died, they tried to make out they were trying to help him. Yeah, how many friends would help someone by writing a book? If they weren't getting paid for the book, I might have actually believe it. But they did it for MONEY - nothing else. Now, years later Sonny West does a film for... wait for it... MONEY! A pile of sh** like this will sink without a trace. Let's hope Sonny gets paid for the amount of DVD's they sell. It won't be much.
