Something Blue

A really beautiful release with a stunning cover, containing 28 hard to find outtakes of some Elvis’ best ballads, recorded in the sixties. The ultimate Elvis LOVE collection. Most tracks are unreleased in this form !! Some highlights are the hard to find version of It Hurts Me without the backing vocals, the original mono version of Home Is Where The Heart Is, the original album mix of Let’s Forget About The Stars and the master of What Now, What Next, Where To including the studio count- in.

I hear you on The Double Features version circleG, but probably because I grew up listening to the vinyl version, to me, it still sounds way better. I bought a USB turntable just to record this track to iTunes.

PTJones you may be referring to the double features CD released many years ago. Try the Let's be Friends Camden CD released by Sony where the sound is much superior and the mix more faithful.

I thought "Let’s Forget About The Stars" on the "Let's Be Friends" repackaged CD, really was an inferior version to my original with the piano almost completely faded out. If they've addressed that, i'd buy it for that one track.

Hello. The "hard to find" version of It Hurts Me - that'll be the stereo channel containing the backing vocals removed thus leaving a mono version with no backing vocals. Not really hard to find if you think about it - play the stereo mix and either shift the balance control or unplug one of the the speakers. The songs have obvious commonalities, but this is an unexceptional and unnecessary release.
