Here's something for all the "bottom of the barrel" posters to chew on. This looks like a great set ! I wonder if the short version of "Turn Around and Look At Me" is from a soundboard as well. It doesn't say it isn't - should I assume ? Great start to the summer for sure !

Great to have 2 unknown performances in one hit [barring "Sweet Caroline" which appears on 48 hours from Memphis] graced with a terrific cover. Coming from the same producers of '3000' and '48 hours' it would be a safe bet that it'll be money well spent. Just one question for Cisco: since the line-ups for both shows are pretty standard for the time, why is there only one bonus song on the whole set when other songs such as 'Steamroller', 'My Baby Left Me', 'Lovin' Feeling', 'Mystery Train' medley, 'That's Alright', and 'Help Me Make It...' which were also sung over both tours, used to spice it up a bit?
The Tulsa show is tour opener 1974..a fantastic concert...Cleveland isn`t bad either. both are dynamic with great set list.... Elvis and band at best..I think later...they couldn`t reach such a high level any more..
looks good - i would have preffered two seperate releases though. Is there a connection betwen the two shows ?
Both were sold out....lol.. The separate discs would mean paying twice..think about it..;-)
This cover is also very good. Well done for the graphic design aspect. Looking forward to the mastering of the audio. Great facial expression by Elvis.
Last night while exercising (one of the joys that comes with getting old lol ), I listened to a show from Tahoe in May of '74. It was a very enjoyable show with Elvis in good spirits and excellent voice. My point ? I think Cisco is spot on when he hints that the Tulsa show is indeed an excellent choice for the first half of this set. This was the opening of the tour and we know from other shows that have been released from early '74 that Elvis was focused and committed to his performances at this time. I think that this one the makings of a real winner. I also recall seeing a photo of Elvis and Evangelist Oral Roberts before the show. Perhaps this is a stretch, but I think that's a good sign as well. It wasn't a show where his bodyguards were rushing him into the building as the last few bars of 2001 were being played and he was trying to wake up and finally did by the third or fourth song. I also am pleased that FTD didn't blow this release out of proportion with promises of 'impeccable' sound like they did with "48 Hours To Memphis" - especially since the same tape had already been used for the bootleg "Guranteed To Blow Your Mnd." Also, we didn't have buy a $200 book to get two unreleased soundboards.
Hello orion, Great comment on your part, I can't wait to see the new release. But i have to disagree with you about 48 hours to memphis , the tape from the bootleg came from a multiple generation cassette tape, the tape from FTD was a direct copy from the multitrack recording on a single reel. Ernst has given aan explanation in Memphis about the release. The sound is also much better as the bootleg release. The concert from Richmond was always one of my most favorite releases, first on boot and later from FTD

JerryNodak, don't get me wrong, but just out of interest : why "no thanks" to soundboards ? What do you prefer when it comes to recordings of concerts ? Just asking ! Always El.
Harriemuskee - I either misspoke or you took my post too literal about "48 Hrs." I should've said same "source' instead of 'from the same tape." I realize it wasn't the same 4th generation tape, but there's no denying that the source it the same. What I meant was Ernst and FTD promised the 'new unheard multi-track recording and all we got was a 1st generation dub of a previously released tape / CD. Did I buy it ? Am I pleased - kind of. I am just a bit more cautious about FTDs claims about its releases.
Soundboards are not my favourite releases due to the mediocre sound quality. Much prefer the professionally recorded stereo shows. Surprising how few of the On Tour recordings have been officially released! However soundboard recordings are the best available source for most of his 70's live appearances and they are a welcome addition to my collection. These hopefully will have a better than average sound quality...
Hi Cisco:) You say that "they couldn`t reach such a high level any more..." (after 1974). Are the June and July tours of 1975 inferior to the March/June tours of 1974 in your opinion then? I'm just curious.
benny scott: What do I prefer you ask? I prefer professionally recorded, multi-track concerts from 1970-1972. I wish Sony would release all the EOT stuff. I also like "Aloha" from '73 and the Memphis concert from '74. As for sounboards I like the pieced together concert found on the Elvis Aron Presley box set released in '80 if I'm in the mood for its sonic limitations.

Smile, partly you are right. I am not speaking of songs. the set lists from July 1975 were terrific. I was more referring to the vibrance, the dynamics, it was just Rock And Roll, sparkling and evrybody had just pure fun. that is missing a bit in July 1975.
I am really looking forward to this release. However, I have already that bonus song in my collection for more than 12 yrs and don't like it ! You'll hear it when you buy it but you ought to buy this Concert(s) allright. He is in good spirits folks ! Re. Graceland sale : Well, let's go for it, Lisa & Cilla ! Fully endorse your business attitude. Normal behaviour of the rich & famous, I'd say. And always maintaining the Colonel's greedy spirit behind every deal that you both can get (even) more money from. Don't blame you. Just perhaps a more "social" twist...Why not open it up even more and offer a one (1) percent of shares to ALL of Elvis' former girlfriends and movie co-stars ( Linda, Ann-Margret, Shelley, Mary-Ann, Joanne, Juliet, Debra a.o. plus another 1% to each of the Jordanaires as well as 1% to eeach of his TBC band members, to Voice and the other vocal group members ? It would certainly have to be offset with promotional activities that those 1% stock-owners get, will have to do in coming years (as long as they are shareholder of something (read: huge successes) they were part of then ! All this, rather than a wealthy arab sheik who pays US$600 mio. for the whole thing and closes down Graceland; thereby not allowing all elvis-fans to visit his mansion.
Wonder though if they find (and I hope they do !) that new investor, what his/her new marketing strategy will be and how fans will get more Elvis product, especially more music + movies to enjoy !! Wonder, really, if we'd be better off ?
I like the artwork for this CD, and having a show from the opening bars thru announcements is always a plus. I read a review of the show from the local newspaper titled, "Elvis Show Has One Drawback - It's Just Not Long Enough". The reviewer may have a point....the entire CD is 52 minutes, 6 seconds, start to finish. That being said, the introductions are only 1:28, thank goodness. The reviewer also commented on Elvis' "matador like stances" which I have never heard before, and is an accurate description of the way Elvis posed on stage. So, will see. I think I will wait for some regular old fans to comment before I run out and buy this one. We already have the incredible Memphis show from this era in perfect sound, so I am not too excited about this release.
