Small Jorgensen Book / CD Update

December 30, 2003 | Book
As mentioned earlier, Ernst Jorgensen is working on a book on the period 1954-1955. In the January '04 edition of Ice Magazine (page 18) there is a brief piece/interview with Ernst Jorgensen in which he mentions that "it will hopefully have a three CD set with everything Elvis ever recorded for Sun, from the worst sounding acetate ever - of the Louisiana Hayride - to all the Sun masters. It will be very limited, probably just 5,000 copies, a labor of love".

I cannot see how they can release from the Sun Masters since RCA have lost 3 of the masters including the important 'Thats all right'. The only version they have is the compressed version that RCA did in 1955 which is all we have have been hearing ever since right upto 2nd to None. I believe they are trying to copy the sound from an original Sun 45 and pass it of as a recording from Sun Master. Not good enough! For the fans sake please dont fool us around. A lot of people know about this. On the other hand rumours persist that the original master stamper for the first record will be released under the EU law in regards to Public Domain for the first time since 1954. However US fans will not be allowed to buy them as they will have to wait another 45 years before they can do so.
