Rock Style Premieres At The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

April 25, 2000 | Other
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will open its doors on May 13, 2000 with a new exhibition that will spotlight classic rock and roll performers and their pervasive influence on fashion. Rock Style features approximately 120 of the greatest and most influential rock costumes from the 1950's to the present, including outfits from icons such as Elvis Presley, Madonna, Mick Jagger, David Bowie and The Beatles.
The collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Hall of Fame enabled the The Hall of Fame to put together a stunning collection of rock and roll costumes. During the last half of the twentieth century, rock artists have continually redefined what is considered sexy, hip or cool.
This exhibition is being organized by The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, in Cleveland and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York. The exhibition will be on display through September 12, 2000.
