Promo Clip 'Elvis 75' Boxsets

Nice box but it is still ludicrous to have included Adam & Evil & This Is My Heaven when there are so many better movies songs. That ruins it for me.

The update forgets to mention that Elvis' debut album will be re-issued in the "Legacy" series.

Let's wait until it's a fact and more than a rumour. There have been enough of them on this site in the past :-)

What do they mean by "Movie Releases"?!

Same old, same old. I wish they'd use some imagination. And how can the Legacy version of the first album beat the FTD edition? It can't because the FTD release gave us every alternate of all the songs involved. There's no way the Legacy edition will do that, not for the general public.

Guess the 2nd CD might be Elvis (second album), so it'll be more or less Elvis 1956... but let's wait until Sony adds more info...

Excellent clip.Why oh why haven't someone released that concert I believe recorded in Canada with the gold lame jacket and black trousers back in the late 50s..that's what we all want,isn't it ? The box set looks fine,but we all have these tracks,don't we.

To Deke Rivers 6 - the concert footage you talk about is from Tupelo in September 1957. Not more than a couple of minutes of it exists. It's silent and it's been released on several different DVDs already.

Col Parker was supposed to be a shrewd genius in the 50's right? How come he never filmed or recorded any of the 50's tours , especially in 1957, of the biggest star on the planet? 50's concerts exists of Judy Garland, Sinatra, Ella, etc. Was Elvis not deemed important enough? Come to think of it, he didnt record the 1961 concerts either when he knew Elvis would not be making any more appearances after that. Terrible manager.

So right you are dgirl. So many of the good things were in spite of that old bastard. I never understood the people who always defend that awful gold digger and gambler. As Dave Marsh wrote: He never understood he was dealing with genius. He saw it all as a carny trick. Disgusting!

Here in Denmark it got rave reviews in the most read paper, and six stars out of six!

Swen, dgirl, I'll go one further. I think the fat man was the worst manager in the history of show business. He didn't deserve Elvis and didn't know what to do with him for he was a 3rd rate carny. A few points worth noting for the Parker lovers (yes there are some). No world tour in 1962 (or ever for that matter), barring Lieber & Stoller from Elvis' inner circle, having the Hill & Range song deal which banned any song writer who didnt agree to give up publishing rights, a terrible long term movie contract (with terrible movies & soundtracks mostly), endless Vegas engagements long past their prime, almost ruining the 68 TV special, endless grind of 70's tours, no studio albums between 1962-1969 except gospel. I could go on & on but I think this man contributed to Elvis' death by boring him to tears and not letting him grow. Unfort for us the wrong guy died first.

So what is going on? "Elvis 75" is a four CD set with 100 songs released by Sony. Same name "Elvis 75" is a three CD set with 75 songs also released by Sony. Both have the same picture on the front. Can someone explain? Does Elvis stuff sell so well and so easily that the marketing is left to chimpanzees? (Sorry chimps, low blow). I've posted this message on a number of articles because "Elvis 75" has turned up all over the place. PS. The music is still great!
