Preview "Lost" Elvis MSG Photos

April 10, 2008 | Other

Here are a few previews of the "lost" pictures of Elvis rocking Madison Square Garden from photographer George Kalinsky. When he raided his files, hunting for pictures he'd taken of the concert and never printed. He dug out nearly 100 never-before-seen shots, including some Graceland officials consider the most iconic ever taken.

Brings me right back to June 1972 and that wonderful Sat night concert! These photos have been in the NY papers this week , are all over the internet and are creating a great buzz! Imagine if a lost Elvis song ever surfaces!

36 years ago we all looked better, however Elvis cannot ever change because he never aged, a sad life on Elvis Presley Blvd.

Anyone notice that the photo where Elvis has his arms spread out with cape open - his belt is upside down! kind of strange, isn't it? Why would that be? Anyone out there know?

To follow up on my previous notes, I think Elvis took the belt off during the show (as he is pictured without the belt in one of the photos) and then put it back on upside down...??

that's right, that particular photo is made during the song 'Upside down", a cover of Diana Ross. During that moment he also had his boxer upside down but unfortunately the picture doesn't tell..

as elvis did that alot he took off his belt during suspicious minds and put it back on upside down. there are a few times when he did that in pictures.

I wonder how much EPE will charge us for the pleasure of viewing them!

Beautiful pictures! Brings back great memories of the MSG concert. I hope the photographer, George Kalinsky, decides to publish these photos in a book for all of us Elvis fans. There's supposed to be nearly 100 of these unseen photos. They take my breath away- just gorgeous!!

Oh yes, what great news, it's nearly unbelievable! I'd like to see all these pictures in a book - if they do I'd wonder how much they'd charge us fans.

Superb, the king at his best. A photo book must surely follow.

I'm sure the photo in the middle with his arms stretched out, holding up his cape, was already displayed inside Madison Square Garden, on a wall. My favourite has to be the bottom left coloured one.
