Preview Inside Double Trouble Book

March 31, 2007 | Book
Here is a small preview of the upcoming book "Inside Double Trouble" from Peter Verbruggen and the Elvis Matters fan club. The book, due for release in April 2007, focuses on Elvis' 24th movie, because of the many European links. In "Double Trouble" (1967), Elvis portrays Guy Lambert, a young American singer on tour in "mad mod Europe".

The official book presentation takes place on April 14th and 15th in the ElvisMatters Shop (98 Otterstraat, Turnhout Belgium) and at the International Record Fair (Utrecht, The Netherlands).

You can win 2 copies of the box set, courtesy of Elvis Matters, through ElvisNews.com in the next two weeks!

The Double Trouble package comes with:

* 112 page full color hard cover book with over 150 pictures and illustrations
* Signed and numbered COA (1 - 1.000)
* 45 rpm vinyl promotional record with the original radio commercial
* The original movie on DVD with subtitles
* Movie prop sleeve of Guy Lambert's single "Could I Fall In Love"
* Same size reproduction of the Belgian movie poster with 3 titles
* 2 postcards

Great preview. The color photos are well known RCA cover pictures I know for decades but wait....whow there's a photo of the "Old McDonald's" scene. You don't need an On Tour box if you got this. So, if these are the mouthwaterers I don't want to see the boring stuff of this release. There wasn't a "Whow" effect in the Roustabout box for me and this preview indicated that it's the same with Double Trouble.

One of the movies Elvis made that almost killed his career. I was emabarassed for Elvis after walking out of the theater seeing this in 1966. I went home and played Rubber Soul and wondered when Elvis was going to be Elvis again. I will not be buying this.

Have been looking forward to this book for a long time now! Great to see there's finally one about the movie where Belgium also plays a big part in it. Love the artwork in the preview, can't wait to see the complete set. With all the extras it is a superb package!! Will be a great addition to my Elvis collection that's for sure!!

Elvis unfortunately had to find himself in some awful movies which at the time made him feel bad and disgraced, but he also made some decent ones. So, what I don`t understand is why the worst ones have to be made up as a book. This one I suggest might have to do with connections between the author and the Belgium fan league...can`t see no other reason. Hopefully "Old McDonald" is not brought out big and large.....at least, for El`s sake.

Personally, I liked Double Trouble back then. Still do. Now, Harum Scarum, that WAS embarrassing. Hope I win this book.
