Pre-Order Lisa Marie

February 12, 2005 | Music
You can now pre-order Lisa Marie Presley's upcoming album on-line. The album "Now What" will be released by Capitol on April 5th. The first single is the Don Henley cover "Dirty Laundry".

It looks like there will be two versions of this album, a "clean" version and a version with "explicit lyrics" judging by the two pre-order options on Amazon.

What a disappointment! From the heading I thought someone could buy Lisa Marie...She may as well sell herself as she's sold everything else....
gribz wrote on February 12, 2005
I will be buying both versions. I understand Lisa Marie, somewhat, and I support her. I liked her last album album. Listen to her words carefully. See the bigger picture..

Now what? exactly my dear.
doctor wrote on February 12, 2005
Lisa Marie is an artist in her own right. When it comes to music, she is not Elvis, and that's fine by me. Judge her by what she does, and Gribz is right, she wrote some awesome lyrics for her first album. Despite the fame and fortune, hers was not an easy childhood or life. Money can't buy yuou peace of mind. Her parents split up, her dad spoiled her, her mom was a greedy whatsit, and yes she would end up with a different take on life. It's like Hank Williams, Jr: the poor guy had a really rough time of time trying to be his own artist when all people could do was compare him to his father. Give Lisa Marie credit -- she doesn't need the money but she needs to express herself musically and I think we're better for it. If you don't like the music don't buy it, Viva, but stop knocking Lisa because she's not doing Elvis covers. "Wlak a mile in my shoes, before you abuse, criticize and accuse, just walk a mile in my shoes."

Dirty Laundry is really well done. I cannot wait to get the album.
Viva wrote on February 12, 2005
I'd love to walk a mile in her shoes, that way I'd be a mile away from her AND I'd have nicked her shoes. But seriously, I couldn't care less about Lisa Marie, it's Elvis I care about, and what gets me is the fact that EPE will pull out all the stops to promote her, but won't do a damn thing to promote the King. If EPE did their bit for Elvis then I would probably say fair play to Lisa. The only time she says or does anything to promote her dad is when she's got a project she wants to sell. Having said that, I did like "Lights Out" and she does seem to have a bit of a flair for lyrics, but she is just an average singer, and I for one wouldn't buy her stuff if you put a gun to my head. As an individual, she deserves all the criticism she gets. Read the Howard Stern interview she did, that tells you all you need to know.

I hear you, Viva. It's a free world. It's hard sometimes to separate an artist's personal life from his/her creative talents. I just feel that we should stick to the muisc and the rest, well, nothing you can do about it. DO I wish she was a real lady like her dad was a real gentleman? Yes, I do. Your honest response is appreciated, though. The way Lisa and Priscilla have mined ELvis for gold just sickens me too. At the end of the day, I drown all else out by just putting on Elvis music loud and proud. Long live the King!

Viva - where can I read this Howard Stern interview? Cheers.
Viva wrote on February 12, 2005
Jim Semple: a transcript (well more of a monologue) of the interview is on: "all the w's then marksfriggin dot com/news03/4-7.htm#tue" hope I'm not breaking any rules by putting that in. Be warned though, she does talk about some very unsettling subjects, you will have to scroll down to about half way as the page is a transcript of the whole show. Doctor: I hear you too, and I agree with you on a lot of your points. I'm sure that, as an album, it is of a very high standard.

Lisa Marie Presley is just that. Her own person. I love her music and will buy both cd's. Look at your life and tell us if you could of done what she has....

I agree as well viva that Lisa interview was sickening. Elvis must be rolling about in his grave.I cant believe what I just read. Good luck with the album Lisa !

What i've read in that interview, id be locked up if i said what i really felt about LMP. What an absolute emabarrassment of a child to any parent, never mind Elvis Presley.

It's shocking isn't it! A young woman talking about having sex in this day and age, it shouldn't be allowed!! I can't really understand why she might have been a little wild growing up, it's not as if she didn't have a normal childhood!
Carol K. wrote on February 13, 2005
Remember when Lisa Marie first appeared a few years ago, she even wore hats that said "LMFP"--you can guess what the "F" stood for. I was totally shocked and embarassed for her mother! I don't know where she gets that "no class" gene. Elvis's movies were always wholesome, as well as his concerts. She should be ashamed of herself. I pity her sweet, classy mother! And, by the way, Lisa Marie can't sing at all. Who cares about "meaningful, dirty" lyrics? Not I! Count me out!
krababe wrote on February 14, 2005
to all you haters you have your opinion but then again opinions are like a**holes, everybody has them and some actually are! I knew it, ooh she talks about sex she curses, she is no our little princess. We should all just take a blowtorch to her and set her on fire. I mean shut up with it already! You remeber she is his and cills's child not yours and if I was her I'd probably already kill myself by now. Having to live up to other people's expectations and this whole idea that she's supposed to act a certain way and she has to fufill this duties as a "princess" that should never do anything bad cuz she's a princess and she should act like a wind-up doll or something for your appeasement. This is why folks think some of the so called elvis fans are crazy hicks who are living in dementia. Hell, some are actually, not all of you of course. There some who think she should please him or her. If you don't like her than don't listen to the broad okay! Besides it's really not her fault, look to the the person who raised her.

The title of the single says it all Dirty Laundry.I dont care what Lisa does or says because I am Elvis fan.I am surprised she has not done a duet with Eminen ( lol ).I wont buy the album because I dont like her singing although she does write pretty good songs. And I would not want Lisa to do any cover versions of any of Elvis' songs. But good luck to her whatever she does. You cant always blame the parent for the way that there children turn out and I am not a Priscilla fan either

What are you people talking about! Since when was Elvis a good father. It is remarkable that LMP has managed to grab control of her life in such a positive way when you consider the example her father set her in the 70s.This is LMP's life not Elvis's. Why on earth should she 'have' to represent Elvis in any way at all. What other major stars children do? My God sometimes Elvis fans can be the most vile, selfish, short sighted people there are. Good for Lisa I say,it is absolutely none of our business what she does but I love her honesty and her desire to improve her life - if only her father had of been more honest in public and faced up to his challenges then he might be around to enjoy his daughters own style of music.I have great respect for how she has approached her life recently and as for all the swearing and lewdness, get a life people - have you not listened to some of the bootleg coverage of Elvis !!! Talk about crudeness.

I liked her first album and I will definately be buying this one! As for people with negative viewpoints...you're entitled to your opinion ONLY if you've heard the music!
pacer1965 wrote on February 15, 2005
Why do some people think I dont like Lisa ? I just said I dont like her singing much. And Cep when Elvis swears it was with his friends and none of that was suppose to be officially released. Why the personal attack on Elvis for ?If your an Elvis fan you would respect Elvis as well not just Lisa.Sorry if I have upset anyone I dont mean too

CEP: Amen! I don't like her music enough to buy her CD(s), but however she behaves is her business, and it seems she takes pretty good care of it!

I am shocked (I guess) again at Lisa Marie --putting out 2 versions of her new album. the second with "explicit" lyrics?! What is wrong with her anyway? I am so disappointed! Why does she always have to try to connect to the "lowest denominator" of society? If she's so unhappy and trying to find her way, I wish she'd keep it to herself. Glad I don't have little kids to have to explain this to. Yes, this is my opinion, and I'm sticking to it!

lisa marie will always walk in the shadow of her father and if she was not elvis presleys daughter she probably would not have made it past round one of american idol lets face it she is average in fact i saw her album to whom it may concern at hmv for £1.99 so that says it all and all this bad language and the way she now portrays herself these days is to try to be controversial but it certainly does not impress me in fact it would be nice if she said something positive about her father now and then now that would impress me.lisa marie presley now what! well so what!

Man, Your a tough crowd...And you call yourselves Elvis fans? I am sure he would be proud of his baby. And sad to have such judgemental fans :(. But you know what, she isnt cashing in on any of that. She isnt selling her name or Elvis. She is doing it herself...And doint it well I might add. She isnt making money doing it...She is doing it bc she loves it! And she has a great fan base :) How can you knock someone for expressing themselves. No one asked you to like her. But dont be so freaking nasty. Just keep and open mind. And seperate her from Elvis for a second.

my god peeps, u call yourself elvis fans and yet u disrespect his daughter who i have a real deep respect for. and u should too. she doesn't have to please u people or anyone 4 that matter but she is an awesome person and her music truly inspires people. have u actually listened to her music?? probably not as u are all too mean and nasty to even give her the benefit of listening before u trash her!! and she clearly isn't in it for the money, i believe she is in it for her true fans and yes we her fans will always have her back and support her 110%... so back off alittle bit geezzzzz
L&CFan_1 wrote on April 20, 2005
god people give it a rest.. if u don't like lisa fine! but there's no reason to put her head on the damn chopping block when u probably haven't even listened to her music!! i mean u have the right to your opinions but u have no right to chop at her, she has made a great controbution to the music industry weather u see it or not! and even if her new cd doesn't do well ( which IT will ) she still has helped an awful lot of people with her music/talent, and i'm assuming by how nasty and mean u all are that U have never helped anyone! oh and as far as the one post bout Elvis turning in his grave, wth is that! i'm sure he is really proud of Lisa no matter what she does i'm sure he would be behind his daughter and be very upset that His fans r so nasty and mean!

Lisa Marie made it to the top ten without you! She emergred even as a Pope and Terri Shaviao passed away as well as several otherhigh profile figures. She walked out of the darkness and won't be back so get over it. Lisa Marie Presley rules!! She is awesome and beautiful and has simply shaken herself loose of those who where not there for her music and who she is. Now that he dead weight is gone -it's party time! So with that said-have a nice day. PS -keep it moving. The beautiful thing about this is that we no longer have to see your insincere faces in our happy crowds here in the USA anymore. -Oh happy day!. So in closing I say hit the road jack and don't ya' come back no more. Peace-me
