The Tennessee Moon Label will release the CD "Polk Salad Elvis" in a series entitled "Rockin' Chicago". This second volume contains a recording of Elvis May 1st. 1977 concert from Chicago.

hmmm the BETTER of his 2 last shows in Chicago.... might even sound 'ok' but i won't be bothering about the May 1st 77 show.

Why the name? Polk Salad? It does not sound too attractive.

These shows are only bad if you compare them to earlier ones. 'Polk Salad Annie' was one fo the greatest songs Elvis recorded and the LATER the version the better, especially the mid 75-76 where the Orchestra joined the intro and burton had his instrumental. Elvis still got the ovations - people may criticise but the shows are a damn site better than anything you or I could do so get over it.

Oh thanks smudgedapple, I feel stupid not knowing about the song Polk Salad Annie....that explains it....I was afraid that it was making fun of Elvis and it bothered me. Thank you for clearing that up.
