After The Brighest Star On Sunset Boulevard Gravel Road continues with the release of another great rehearsal Plugged In & Geared Up (July 29, 1970). This is by far an outstanding rehearsal, Elvis playing the songs he liked from his early career.
It is also a rare inside view to follow the progress of the filming for the That’s the way it is informal segment.
A large part has been released on various releases - like "Cream of Culver City" in mono or altered stereo but never uncut in stereo and as complete as this release, straight from the original tapes. The CD is packed in a deluxe digipack and a 20 page booklet.

Wish BMG would put out 'Are You Horny Tonight' as a remix as a duet with someone like Snoop Dog. It's the only way the kids will dig Elvis. Either that or a circus in Las Vegas for Sillerman's almighty dollar.

would anyone please tell me, why that is a must have, what is the difference between the other releases? It's just the same old rehearsal songs again, or not?

Folks not everyone has the originals!
I am no expert...in fact I probably do not even know what I am talking about, but was this rehearsal even recorded in stereo? I mean, it was just a rehearsal, right? It is easy to fake stereo--I think even freeware can do it, but I just kinda wonder if they really recorded this is "true" stereo. (Maybe they did--I have absolutely no idea, just seems unlikely to me)
Hope they get track 19 right on the backcover, since the track should be correctly called "hava nagila" and nothing else - even though elvis sings "nagila hava" a couple of times.
indeed, is it really stereo? wasn't too impressed with the previous release regarding sound. Also this rehearsal doesn't seem to be performed that seriously- Cattle Call and My Country 'Tis Of Thee isn't really worth my money..
I enjoy it,as for the previous release brightest star on sunset blvd i agree the sound wasnt right,it was too low,but hopefully this one has better sound,and i dont know if its true stereo but if it sounds like theres always me vol 4 then im happy!
It was recorded on multi-track tape, as were the other recordings made for the audio track of the film "That's The Way It Is". A mono, stereo, quad or 5.1 mix could be made from these tapes.
Mature youre right.TAM4 was great,but mono.If this is real stereo it will be a welcome addition
But the previously release of this label was also a nice cd.And a real great rehearsal
i wish ftd would release some of this content. they could release it in a 7" digipack, the rehearsals for TTWII. i would really like to see 1970 opening night and closing night in a twin digipack the same as dixieland delight and nevada nights!
I also would like to see a set of rehearsals from Ftd,a 2cd set would do just fine!
