Petition For Elvis' Historical Significance

David Smock, President of the After Loving You Elvis Fan Club, would like your help in an initiative to have the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences officially and publicly acknowledge the historical significance of Elvis Presley's earliest recordings. He is asking that those who would like to be involved sign a petition.

But Elvis is the most famous singer in the world and anyone who know anything about popular music knows his early recordings at Sun are some of the best music ever by anybody. Dylan, Stones, The Clash, even Johnny Rotten likes Mystery Train. Seventy five percent of all current bands have attended private schools and have done media courses on how not to say anything radical or rock the corporate boat and most will be forgotten quickly, so forget the Grammys, not a rebel or pioneer among them. Sun Records is in the history books and will never be forgotten, so no petition is necessary in my opinion.

I think it would be great to acknowledge the earliest recording of Elvis Presley. It would help promote the legacy of Elvis and the fans of Elvis.
