Opening Auto Museum Tupelo

November 21, 2002 | Other
Anticipation grows daily for the opening of the Tupelo Automobile Museum. All the cars are in place - including Elvis Presley's 1976 blue-and-creme Lincoln Mark IV complete with a copy of the $13,386.69 check to Kumpf Motor Car Co. in Denver - and await their first (droolers) visitors.

A good many of the speakers describing each of the cars - at least all 110 that will be on display - are already hooked up and running. The carpet in the entrance of the building has been laid, and the rest rooms are all shiny and operable.

The $3.25 million, 120,000 square-foot building that will be the permanent home to Frank Spain's amazing $11.2 million car collection has drawn attention from all over everywhere.
