On Tour Cover Art Confirmed

November 25, 2004 | Music
The "working version" of the cover art of the Follow That Dream release "On Tour - The Rehearsals" we showed earlier appears to be the definitive version.

The release was originally planed for January 2005, but FTD have decided to let the fans have it before Christmas (release date December 20th).

And I thought they change the cover a little. Or will they surprise us ? But that is not the important thing. The important thing is that we get some rehearsels from 72 and as they promised a good version of Young and beautiful and other good songs. TCB.

I don't care much for the cover. It looks nice though. Can't wait to hear, especially the song young and beautiful.

The cover is excellent , stop griping guys, concentrate on the cover as this is all this subject is about. I think the cover is very cool especially considering Elvis is wearing an uncool jump suit ffs !.

ooops ok so its not a jump suit lol.

Please improve the cover. A better pic would be more pleasing than this one. This pic is better for the back cover or on the disc itsself. Blue text is hard to read. I would prefer the Elvis on Tour type from the movie. But loverall looking forward to the music. Cheers

Why judge a book by the cover? or in this case the CD (?) Yes, the contents (music) is definitely the important factor with a 1972 period release. I don't want to draw to fine a point on the issue, however, we have all purchased "re-issued" recordings in the past which offered brilliant cover art. What happened here? I am looking forward to this new release, as usual.

There's nothing wrong about this cover. It's nice. I like it. Can't wait to lay my hands on the CD and hear the musc.

I think the cover's great. a retro fifties typeface over a seventies photo. pretty appropriate with about a third of the tracks coming from the fifties and the rest from the seventies. Compare the artwork it to some of Elvis' early singles covers (esp A Big Hunk O'Love) and you'll see what I mean. but I agree, it's more about the music. It's not as though I have the covers framed and up on the wall! (OK but just a few).

I read almost everyday from this website and can tell from that the fans here are starving for a soundtrack from the " ELVIS ON TOUR THE MOVIE". This is the next best thing, however as an FTD collecter I am extremely disappointed by the the photograph used for the cover art. One of the photos of Elvis taken from behind with his blue cape opened facing the audience with camera bulbs flashing would be an excellent choice. Anybody else agree?

I agree with the last comment. What a cover this could be ! But as I have comment: Maybe we get a diffrent cover than this one ?!? TCB.

Great cover! Perhaps the best FTD cover ever! Cool in every way and a far cry from the worst ones (mention no names...). But it is the content that mattes the most. I really hope the CD contains more than 53 minutes worth of material! It is a shame if it's less than 70 minutes! Thanx Ernst!

bkdnyc2 and glennd, it would be ridiculous to use a live shot for a rehearsal CD. He wore that outfit (as seen on on the sleeve) during at least one rehearsal. It's a magnificent shot. A little out of focus, perhaps, but still great. However, if the CD runs for 53 minutes, they should have included the gospel rehearsal tracks from Peace in the Valley: The Complete Gospel Recordings. That would have tied in more with the picture.

It is a great cover and the content seem to be fantastic

I'm looking forward to buying myself this extra Christmas present. I believe the content will be quite interesting stuff (the unreleased "El Paso" song etc.). I also like the cover. Much more up to date! Colonel Parker inspired front cover pictures of a smiling Elvis in a jumpsuit have been overused. And they are outdated, folks... Let's welcome the the artdesign of the 21 century. Yet another big hurrah to the FTD crew :oD

I like the man behind the music. and that's what the cover unveils.

ok you guys are right - a studio shot would be better - posssbly a shot of him playing with the band in the studio - and in focus!
