The book "Nudie - the Rhinestone Cowboy" was released in June, and tells the story of Nudie, the Rhinestone Cowboy who designed, amongs others, Elvis famous Gold Lamé suit.
By 1957, Nudie and Elvis Presley already had both a professional and personal relationship. Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker, amd Nudie went way back, and remained lifelong friends.
Nudie created the western outfits for Elvis' movie Lovin You prior to whipping up the famous $10,000 gold lame suit. Nudie remarked that $9,950 of the price was pure profit. In truth, the bill to Elvis for the suit was probably $2,500.
