Shreveport, Louisiana is this weekend the hometown of the James Burton Guitar Festival, to honor James' 70th birthday. One of the highlights of the weekend was the attempt to get in to the Guinnes Book of World Records by playing with the largest group of guitar players ever.
At the Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, roughly 30 miles west of his hometown of Minden, Burton led a battalion of pickers through the Elvis Presley hits "That's All Right, Mama" and "Hound Dog."
The organisation tried to gather 6000 guitar players to break the record that was currently set on 1802 participants (2007 in Germany). Unfortunately 'only' 800 players were there, wich was not enough to break the record.
