No Straight Follow Up For 2nd To None In 2004

January 20, 2004 | Music
BMG (UK) have informed the Elvis Express that there will not be an E3 (follow up to "2nd To None"and "ELV1S 30 #1 Hits") this year. Ernst Jorgensen confirmed this to us: "There is no concept of a straight follow up - an E3 release - there never was, in spite of how some people interpreted things I said."

However, "2nd To None" was the departments biggest selling record for 2003 and the UK was second in worldwide sales just behind the USA.

It appears that 2004 will mainly supported by DVD releases, with "ELVIS LIVES" being the first to come out in March and with the hope of the "68 Comeback" and "Aloha" DVD releases following in the autumn.

No E3 for 2004 ; sounds like a smart move as long as BMG takes advantage of it to re-promote both E1 & E2. Jim : I beleive the 50th Anniversary Special CD is the SUN cd. I would like to see a real promotion for the forthcoming DVDs (and CDs) ;I hope they won't go unnoticed just like what happened to the TTWII redux. Have you noticed the way Mr Jorgensen speaks ; you feel you understand something but , no , it was not what he really meant. If E3 does come out this year , he will again say he was misinterpreted ; you'll see... Anyone knows how E2 fared in the UK ; I may have missed the news but I did not even see it go gold overthere (hope I am wrong though). Take care.

Apologies for me being stupid buts what happening to The 50th Anniversary Special CD or is that what E3 was going to be ?. Personally I don't see the fascination in Elvis Lives, every artiste murdered the songs, though I do appreciate the fact that it might attract the younger generation if they knew how much Britney Spears loved Elvis etc etc.
