No New Cover Art For Elvis 2nd To None

September 06, 2003 | Music
On the Japanese Elvis site this cover of the "2nd To None" album was presented as the definitive cover art and track listing. On Amazon Japan the this cover is used too.

We have asked Ernst Jorgensen for confirmation, he informed us that this is NOT the new cover.

This silver cover is for Canada only. Go to secondtonone.ca and check it out. The half face cover is for the USA and the rest of the world.

But this same Ernst Jorgensen was only recently assuring us that the 'new' Roustabout track was not appearing on this album ! Can we trust his statements ?

Way too similar to the No1's. I am sure many non -fans will simply pass it by asuming it is the same disc.is the background Golden too ?

i Like the suppposed not to bew real one better, Better no Elvis face then a half Elvisface in this case! The "regular"cover with the half face and half2 is too bad,My kid can m ake a better cover with siccors and glue then those so called pro's, and my kid is only three years old. Maybe it's time too get some young people into the BMG office! If they still want to sell to the young off course!

I like it. Similar to the 1's album, but that's clearly the intention. It'll probably sell more, as it gives the impression that the two are a package..

I like this cover. I really do. Looks modern, clean style, I think it gives an impression of something exclusive. Rest assured that the booklet will have tons of pics of "the most beatiful man ever".

I have to agree with Kevin K -- the second (black lettering, silver-gray background) works much better. And with the Roman numeral "II" replacing the "i" in Elvis's name with that design, it really makes "2nd to None" look like a companion piece to "30 #1 Hits." I think this design would bring in many more casual fans for a return visit, as they would more likely want both volumes of a "set." That situation can only be a plus to BMG since they could turn this into a CD-era variation on RCA's long and very successful "Elvis' Golden Records" series, with new volumes always ready in the pipeline as long as the radio hits, fan favorites, critic's classics and genuine gold-certified singles hold out. At any rate, I think the black and grey cover is a big improvement on the half face/half 2 look. Will there be a new controversy about "Three to Get Ready" in 2004? You better believe it!

I knew something was fishy but this time the Elvis News fan site is right about this cover wich is just another fake as was the video-clip of "I 'm a roustabout" on that same Japanese website wich i do admire though. If one looks very closely it is just a regular clip from the movie Roustabout with the some editting/cutting in it while he sings another song inside the tent so it looks like Ëlvis sings the song "I'm a roustabout

I think the silver concept would fit nicely to the gold concept of last years release - seems a logical next step to me I hope they keep it! The half face half 2 design is VERY VERY POOR please don't use this one - 'I beg of you' BMG! Could someone also confirm that the new Xmas peace album is mastered to the degree of the 30 no.1 Hits and the above??? The Elvis 56 and others released after last years 30 no.1's was a very cheap cash-in with no improvement in sound quality!
