New Sony Releases Out Now

November 09, 2010 | Music

All eyes are focused on the new 'Viva Elvis' release, but Sony did release 3 other albums at the same time that are worth mentioning. The two CDs 'Blue Christmas' and 'The Gospel Collection' are both budget compilation. More interesting for new or young fans is the re-release for 'The 60s Masters'. This 5CD-set came out in 1992 at a rather high price. Now it is back available for a real interesting price, without cutting in to the quality. The 5 discs are still packed in a nice box with book, containing over 100 pictures.

The box set was released in 1993 not in 1992.

Got the sixties set today, and it is a really neat package. Very elegant and available at a beautifull price! Anybody know if there are any plans to re-release the other two sets?

B-H, yes the 50's and 70's box sets ae due out in the near future in the same new smaller package and same price. A real nice way for any fan who missed the 'bigger versions' of these when originally released.

The sixties package is available at a real bargain price, a lot less then we paid for the original bix box version.

Thanks drjohn! Isn't it wierd how this five cd-set, with a huge booklet, is cheaper than a single disc FTD release, with no booklet? Just sayin'... ;)

B-H, point taken regarding the price for this set and the cost of getting the latest FTD? although Sony may be getting shot of stock in a new smaller package.. does surprise me this time that they have not slapped a higher price so again a must for the fans who may have missed the 1st run back in the 90's and of course for once good value for money.. how many times can we say that regarding Elvis releases etc.
