New Quickpoll

It’s not a complete surprise, but our latest quickpoll showed that a huge majority of the Elvis fans (88%) doesn’t like the merchandise that is (recently) presented by EPE. Still the stuff seems to sell quite well, otherwise EPE wouldn’t approve it probably.
The new question is about the new FTD release “The Impossible Dream”: Is a soundboard of this (poor) quality worth releasing, just because of the historical value? Of course you can express your (positive) feelings about it in the FTD Top 15 too.

I agree with you completely, Kees. As some of my students might put it, you are dead on down on the double-bump; or, as Elvis used to say back in the day, "You'd better believe it!"

If only some serious merchandising was produced, what the heck is the relation between Elvis and a Teddy Bear or Dog? He sang about a bull too ...and yes I've seen Elvis cow merchandise too on the FECC messageboard. He sung about a sportscar and about girls (haven't seen any life-size Elvis girls though :-)

Merchandise like this is for a quick buck and probably helps paying for more interesting activities of EPE, but it is also the basis of the general image Elvis fans have to live with (and defend to friends, family and so on).

I hate the re-releases. They include previusly released material and then the add just "one new song" (alternate or whatever) That's a scam! I really like FTD releases but I never heard one in my life (I'm 22) I think there're no FTDs in Chile. but I read about those on the net, specially here.

Couldn't agree with you more sttos - EPE need to stop denying the 70's Elvis and start including him in their merchandise. It really annoys me that non-Elvis fans seem to think only 50s Elvis was any good - the concerts Elvis gave in the 70s were phenomenal in every sense of the word!!!

I will get "The Impossible Dream" and "Elvis as recorded live in memphis" when i get my latest edition of the elvis merchandise catalog. Overly i am satisfied with the merchandise. FTD really should concentrate alot on the live concerts from the '70s and limit the soundtrack. I would love more elvis stuff from the 70's. like posters, wallpaper. Of course i like elvis best when he was in concert in the '70s. What could the fans want more.
