New Karate Footage On New EPE DVDs

EPE confirmed that on the new "Elvis By The Presleys" DVD set, footage of the uncompleted karate documentary "The New Gladiators" will be used. EPE owns footage from all cameras, not just the one angle we know so far.

As I've already said, I'll buy the DVD set. I'm definitely not a karate fan, and to tell the truth I think it's quite ridiculous. But, of course, as state some others, any unseen footage is welcome.

johnlennon, what's wrong with Elvis making breakfast? Even E on the toilet isn't too bad... as long as he is just reading :-)
Without kidding, if you don't want it... don't buy it! I will anyway, it's nice to see new footage, even if our man is not singing, as long as it is done tasteful and professionally.

I am surprised to read the negative comments towards the use of some of the karate film on the new DVD. Other than the segment used on "This Is Elvis", it is unseen professional footage of Elvis, which I welcome. I have absolutely no interest in karate, but the chance to see unseen images of Elvis is fantastic.
Regarding the tasteless comments about EPE releasing footage of Elvis on the toilet or eating breakfast, I don't think this will be possible. As far as I am aware, Elvis did not commission a film crew to make a documentary about either of these activities. In 1974, his intention was for the world to see the Karate film, something that will partially come true this year.
When EPE stopped the release of "The New Gladiators" DVD, they were condemned for denying fans the chance to see the footage. They are now being condemned for using the footage in their own documentary, allowing fans to see it after all. They just can't win!

I'm happy with it (depending on how many footage is used offcourse), but I would be more pleased if someone actually finished the project, along with the footage from the tournements! Besides that, it's the last proffesional footage of Elvis where he looks good.

nice to know they have more footage, but it doesn't merit buying it I don't think. They'll release more DVDs and documentary stuff in the future, with the same old stuff on BUT these will have rare and unseen footage of Elvis on the toilet or Elvis making breakfast!

I think alot of fans will be pleased this is being released and I am one of them.Doesnt say how much footage they are gonna use as long as they havent got the song 'Kung Fu Fighting' playing over it.
