ELVIS SINGS "MEMPHIS TENNESSEE".. What a dumb CD Album Title ! Just call it "Elvis-Memphis Tennessee".. and can we change that photo? Its a "too slicked" Elvis pic.. for me !

This negativity is pathetic. This is the best cover ever released by FTD and "fans" are still moaning... Very pathetic.

Actually, by my count GK's comment is the first and only negative comment I've seen on "Elvis Sings Memphis, Tennessee." This is the best FTD cover to date and it has been praised as such by dozens. It's a great picture of Elvis, very 60ish (as it should be), and best of all it is a great set from one of Elvis' best sessions of the '60s. Ernst and Roger can't be praised too much for their efforts on this one!

Its a good cover and it fits the time period. Also its not a picture you see over & over again. Since this was not a real LP in 1963-4 there is no formal cover. Its better than the tape box used on the US CD from the 90's.

Hopefully there is still time to remove the "Something" from the Love Letters album.........

George (GK): The photo comes from the "Fun In Acapulco" photo shoot in '63. It fits the time frame in which the songs were recorded, '63-'64. The period in which the songs would have been released on an album. The photo may be too slicked for your taste for your taste, but again it fits the time frame.

Both 'Memphis, Tennessee' and 'America' covers are really good for my taste. Also 'Memphis, Tennessee' cover looks like a cover that could have been done for this album if it had been released in the '60's and it's obvious it was done on purpose! Looking forward to all these CD's and I have already preordered them. Let's hope they did a great job with the sound quality as well.
