New FTD Book

June 12, 2017 | Book

'Elvis at Madison Square Garden' New FTD Book: Way back in July 2016 publisher Pål Granlund announced a new book "Coming soon" from FTD / Flaming Star.

It was going to focus on Elvis at his fabulous Madison Square Garden concerts and his June 72 tour.  However the plan has changed with the book now focussing only on 'Elvis at Madison Square Garden'.

The book comes with a bonus CD - audience recording - containing the opening night, June 9th, 1972 show.
Pål Granlund was in New York in 1972 for the MSG concerts and there are photographs of him meeting Elvis backstage, so the book will no doubt feature his personal stories and much, much more.

The book will be released for Elvis Week 2017.

Hmm a repeat release of SA opening night show would have been 'fine' if most of us didn't already have it. A soundboard of June 11th would make this an attractive package though!

A soundboard would indeed make it an attractive package, alas it' says audience recording ...

Naah ! I think the 2012 Legacy CD/DVD package with it's accompanying book sufficiently covers it for me.

I currently do agree with Dazman...... simply NOT enough 'new' for me... already a book about the entire June tour has been watered down to just Madison Square Garden shows + a well known audience recording most serious collectors already have-Zero surprize or anything to get excited about here.

The audience-recorded CD to be included with this book is supposedly NOT from the same source as Straight Arrow's "Left A Good Job In The City". We shall see... or hear.

skip this one. I've reached my point. To little news for me. a cd with little interpetation diferences of the same songs. for who's interested in this book enjoy it.
