A new import DVD "The Final Days" will be released soon. This disc features 3 complete shows, including the very last concert Elvis ever gave in Indianapolis,IN. After more than 25 years, this rare original Indianapolis 8mm amateur footage of June 26th, 1977 concert will be featured on DVD with the audio and video digitally remastered. The total time of the Indianapolis concert is 52 minutes. Also featured on this DVD are the Omaha, NE June 19th '77 show, the Rapid City, June 21st '77 and the "Official CBS Special". The quality is at least just as good as it was released back then on the Import video tapes. Everyone knows the content of the CBS '77 footage so we are listing only the Indianapolis '77 footage featured on this DVD:
The show starts with a good close up as Elvis enters the building, and starts with See See rider. Followed by I Got A woman - Amen/ Love me / Fairy tale/ You Gave Mountain / Jailhouse rock / O solo Mio (by Nielsen) - It's Now Or Never/ Little Sister/ Teddy Bear/ Please release me / I Can't Stop Loving You / Bridge Over Troubled water (reading the lyrics from paper)/ Early Morning rain / What'd I Say/ Johnny B. Goode (Burton is playing the guitar behind his neck)/ I Really Don't Want To Know / Hurt/ Hound Dog/ Vernon On Stage/ and Can't Help Falling In Love.
Also on this DVD you have 2 CBS Specials from August, including the TV special from the day Elvis passed away, hosted by Geraldo Rivera. The quality on this one is not that good, but still interesting to have.

Is this for real or a hoax? The Indianapolis show (with sound and image) + the two 'CBS Tapes' on a DVD-box? That sounds like it is almost TOO good to be true. I'd love to wrong on this one. :-) Which region will it be in?

Just released in Indonesia is 'Elvis In Concert', a single DVD containing the original CBS special, the Omaha and Rapid City Concerts (including backstage footage). The two concerts are in colour and look like they are taken from VHS copies but the CBS show is excellent quality. The cover reads 'Elvis is sick. He is in pain.' Good value at Rp20,000 (about $2.20) a copy. I'm wondering if the quality on the double DVD set will be better.

EPE Graceland just refuse to release these much sought after CBS footages but then looks like ELVIS IN CONCERT is being released by those bootleggers worldwide. That same DVD that's out in Indonesia is also on sale in Malaysia, Thailand, India and China. EPE could have presented a better re-edited version making Elvis looking and singing good and in first generation Master quality too. But then now we have poor quality versions circulating everywhere. What a shame!!!

I heard that the CBS out-takes are the same quality as the import videos released back then. Only the original CBS Special can be considered of good quality. The Indianapolis '77 footage is basically '' faked ''. They used some clips of Indianapolis in a montage with various clips from the April/May '77 tour and also some footage from June 24th, 1977. Most of this has already circulated on video and most often in better quality than this...
