Jack Soden is the Chief Executive Officer of Elvis Presley Enterprises and has been so for many years.

I would expect there is a good chance that quite a few of these have now sold well in excess of 1 million globally.

As for these "rumored" certifications, nothing is official from EPE or Sony, yet.

I sure hope this is correct because I want Elvis to overtake The Beatles or at least widen the gap between Garth Brooks because I have a feeling Garth is not quiet through and if baffles me how he has sold so many albums. I really think Sony/ BMG/ RCA have hurt Elvis by re-releasing so many different titles of the same songs over and over. Elvis is the most mis-managed recording artist of all time and they are countless times that RCA dropped the ball with his albums especially when he was having big singles like Suspicious Minds that were not included on albums. Also when they would add bonus songs on the soundtracks in the 60s instead of releasing those songs on a non-soundtrack album and the same white jumpsuit on all of the 70s album covers. I could go on and on. Elvis sold millions and millios of records in spite of this mis-management.

Bill, I couldn't have said it better myself, Elvis is Even better than his album sales suggest, and his talent was so great that he survived that mis managedment, and did it well !

UPDATE ~ I just talked with Jack Soden's secretary (Monica) on the phone, and she said that she has heard nothing about a forthcoming announcement concerning RIAA/Elvis album certification upgrades. She stated that if this was something to take place between now and Elvis' Birthday Week 2014, she would've already been informed. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The 1963 Fun In Acapulco album actually should have received an RIAA Gold award decades ago! It was already listed as an album that had sold over $1,050,000 worth in 1965 on the back cover of the Elvis For Everyone! album. There's no doubt (in my mind) that Fun In Acapulco sold well over 500,000 units... if not by 1965, then at least by the end of 1977 when all of Elvis' albums were selling like crazy following his death.

There is no-one more than me who wished this rumour were true. However, apart from the Gold certifications due for 'Christmas Duets' and 'An Afternoon In The Garden' plus the Platinum upgrade for 'The Essential Elvis Presley' I cannot see how it could be. Ernst Jorgensen is the person responsible for tabulating Elvis' sales figures together with Sony (U.S.A.) and then submitting them to Gelfand, Renert and Feldman (Auditors) prior to these Awards being ratified with the RIAA. To date Ernst has no knowledge whatsoever of any such new awards or certification upgrades apart from those I have already listed above. Of course the information regarding the possibility of the RIAA introducing a new 'Silver' Album Award for 300,000 sales is a distinct possibility.

'Silver' album award?! I disappointed to see that the RIAA is lowering their standards for issuing awards in the U.S. What's next... a 'Bronze' award for 200,000 and a 'Copper' award for 100,000 ?

I see that "Elvis Country" is due for a Gold record. Is this the genree title, since the original "Elvis Country" 1971 is already awarded?
TheMemphisFan wrote on December 16, 2013
bajo, did you not read the posts below? The entire list of albums turned out to be a farce/lie made up by some clown named VictorManuelAbreu on an "Elvis cd collectors forum". Coming from that site... par for the course.
