Nevada Nights And Other FTD News

September 10, 2008 | Music
Ernst Jorgensen and Roger Semon shared some information on the upcoming October and December 2008 releases on the Follow That Dream label. The album that was titled ‘Down In The Alley’, according to the British magazine ‘The Man And His Music’, has now an official cover and title; "Nevada Nights".

The "In Person" re-issue in the Classic Album Series has been postponed until December 2008 due to the busy schedules in the factories. At that time, another 5” will be released, with a soundboard from February 1973, Las Vegas Hilton. If possible, the FTD label will try to ship these two titles at the end of November.

Despite the postponing of "In Person" you still get a free promotional CD from ShopElvis.eu when you order In Person, Elvis Country and Nevada Nights at the same time.

I have a bootleg EP called 'Nevada Nights'. Anyone remember that?

Same here, Harvey. That was the first thing that struck me when I read the title of the FTD CD.

love this picture. blew my mind first time i saw elvis wear glasses on stage. made him to be a real down to earth guy in my eyes. i hope the "in person" upgrade includes the tracks from collectors gold especially "inherit the wind"

Ernst, give the fans a real surprise. Release opening night july 31st 1969!! I read in an old article from 1989 that they discovered the complete show in a vault in Indianapolis together with the material from disc 3 of collector's gold already released in 1991 (!). The fans are getting older! We want this show at last!

oh yes, Ronald brings back to the table what I had in mind. This would be the ultimate Vegas gig to buy. But too bad there are obviously no reharsal tapes available for that first season. This would be most outstanding collection legacywise...let us dream for a second: A 4 CD deluxe set with 32 page booklet and Elvis getting in shape "for his first live in person in nine years..." !!!

Nevada Nights! The big boss man in concert or the from the bootleg release "if you talk in your sleep"opening night 1974 Elvis dropped the 2001 intro and tried something a little bit different that night but Elvis felt that the audience did not react in the way he was hoping for so the very next night it was the same format as before and business as usual.this shows Elvis was trying to do something a little different to keep things fresh but that night disappointed him with the reaction he received. a shame this shows Elvis at this stage in his life was getting bored with Vegas and the whole routine and rightly so, as I have said to my friends in the past if Elvis had done a world tour, things may have been a whole lot different today.

Seems like Ernst likes the old boot titles. Not very creative. The show is way too well known..at least to those who buy FTD.....collectors...

An interesting photo for the cover of Nevada Nights. It would've been cool to have a pic from the actual opening show. Elvis wore the Peacock jumpsuit, and as far as I know, no pictures from that show have been released. I hope that FTD has improved the sound. The DAE soundboard release is very good, but not the greatest. As far as the soundboard from Feb 1973, I hope FTD has chosen the closing show (Feb 23). According to reports, it was the only show in which Elvis was inspired and ready to sing. The rest of that season was repleat with problems. It was also the season in which Elvis was "attacked" by some fans in the audience.

Why is there no new soundtracks? The last one to come out was in January( Wild In The country) Whatever happened to come out with three a year!!! I mean really you have had re-released classic album after classic album but I mean come on where is a classic soundtrack you guys must have enough for G.I. Blues, Flaming Star or Blue Hawaii after you get the alternate takes from Close Up and it doesn't matter if it one of these three or not. Personally, I'm appalled at the lack of production time it takes to come out with another soundtrack I mean COME ON!!!!!!!!!!

to be honest do we need another 69 show even if it is the opening night? same songs in the same order. i would buy it of course but how many people will complain. "nevada nights" although it has been out at least gives other fans a lil different show.
