Elvis was voted best male artist of the millennium a poll by Channel 4/HMV/Classic FM. Followed by Robbie Williams and one M. Jackson. Stars like Sinatra, Mercury, Bowie and Lennon followed those two. Over 600,000 voters decided this order. Bob Geldof, who was in a panel of celebrities to comment the poll, said 'Its very apt that Elvis is number one, because the rest of the list we probably wouldn't be aware of had he not done his thing'.
Elvis was in the same poll also voted as second influential artist as follow up to John Lennon.
More strange is that 'An American Trilogy' was voted as fourth best song of the millennium. But then again, on the British isles it was a bigger hit than in America.
