Monday Chart And Rating Update

The "Elvis By The Presleys" DVD remains at #1 in its second week of release in the Music DVD chart in both the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The deluxe edition of "Aloha From Hawaii" slipped nine places to #40 on this week's ARIA Music DVD chart in Australia. The DVD has been in the Top 40 for 21 weeks and is certified Platinum.

Despite pulling reasonable numbers, Elvis by the Presleys was well beaten by both the movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and Law and Order: Criminal Intent in Sydney, Australia last night. In Melbourne, the special fared better with 394,000 viewers, being beaten into second place behind My Big Fat Greek Wedding (514,000 viewers). As many fans feared, being screened on the publicly funded ABC network rather than one of the three "ratings pulling" commercial networks, the special suffered in the ratings. Australia wide ratings will be available later in the week.

And while covering the news from Down Under, here is anopther "chart" Elvis rules. Radio station 2CA in Canberra, Australia ran its League of Legends competition earlier this week. Involving a knockout "act vs act" format, the final round saw Elvis pitted against Neil Diamond. As he had done all week, Elvis reigned supreme picking up 73% of the votes in the final. Elvis defeated Fleetwood Mac in the semi-final and thrashed The Bee Gees in the quarter final. A surprising early casualty in the competition was The Beatles.
