I would rather hear Elvis sing funny how time slips away than willie nelson and id rather hear elvis sing fever than the original, hound dog wasnt a elvis original yet it still gets called a elvis classic, what are you teaching bs101? Are you one of those Elvis fans? I assure you i step outside my Elvis world!

Mr Baggypants is setting an aggressive tone at this site. Anyhow. Kris Kristofferson was recently in Norway and gave excellent concerts (I was there!). He got great reviews, but what's interesting is that in both of the write-ups I red, and this is two of the biggest Norwegian newspapers, it was held that Elvis sang Help Me Make It Through the Night better than Kris. This shows that HMMITTN, and probably more so Fever, is associated with Elvis by people outside the Elvis group.

Here we meet again, mature. To you, and Elvis fans in general, his version of Fever is a classic.
To the rest of the world its not. The 1960 version, recorded for the 'Elvis Is Back' album was indeed excelent. But it was never released as a single, and only performed ( and butchered) during his 70s concerts. How does that make Fever an Elvis classic? I can list you a hundred true Elvis classics, easy. But Fever isnt one of them. Just because Elvis sang it, doesnt automaticly make it into a classic. Or... would you list Help Me Make It through The Night, I Cant Stop Loving You, Funny How Time Slips Away, just to name a few, "Elvis Classics"? On the other hand: Suspicious Minds, In The Ghetto, Burning Love, Heartbreak Hotel, Jailhouse Rock, Lonesome Tonight, are the true Elvis Classics. And thats because, outside this little Elvis world, just about everybody else know them as Elvis songs! Thank you for your time and attention. And by the way, mature, Im not here to insult people. I just try to teach a few things.

Fever was a huge hit in the 50s for Little Willie John, and a while later for Peggy Lee. Elvis covered Fever in 1960. So you cant label this song an Elvis Classic.
