Marty Lacker Elvis Photo Collection Auctioned

November 02, 2009 | Other

For twenty years Marty Lacker was a close friend of Elvis Presley and for a number of years was his right hand man or as Elvis and The Memphis Mafia called it, “The Foreman”.

Through those years Marty took some great candid pictures of Elvis and the MM in various situations and he was also given many pictures by other people who shot them.

There are some great never before seen pictures of various places and times that Elvis and the guys enjoyed within those 20 years. He also has a couple of pictures of Elvis’ jewelry that Elvis gave to Marty as well as pictures that include a few other stars that knew Elvis taken with Elvis or the guys with them.

We are calling them a collection because Marty has decided to sell all 210 pictures, one of the largest photo collections related to Elvis and he is selling them as a total 210 picture package. This is not a sale of individual pictures.

Over 98 percent of the pictures are casual candids just a few are professionally posed pictures. They are both 8x10’s and snapshot size. It is a great mixture and one that any fan or Elvis or photograph devotee would love to have.

Judging from a recent auction of Elvis items in Chicago, a few pictures of Elvis’ wedding went quickly and for big money ($6,000), therefore anyone interested in this one of a kind super collection that also includes Elvis' wedding pictures that Marty was the Co-Best Man at, we advise to get your bid in quickly. Compared to that auction price for just a few pictures this collection is a big bargain.

By the way the picture shown is only half of the collection, there are still much more snapshot size pictures that are not shown. There are more snapshots then 8x10's.

From the eBay description:

The collection also includes pictures of Elvis' wedding where Marty served as Elvis' co-Best Man, pictures of the inside and outside of Graceland with Elvis and the guys. Pictures on movie sets and locations. Pictures of a few of Elvis' close relatives not seen before. Plus so many more different situations. Over 98 percent of the pictures are casual candids just a few are professionally posed pictures. They are both 8x10's and snapshot size. Marty Lacker is a disgusting person. This old fat guy is a swindler. 90% of these photos have been available elsewhere plus more were given to him, than what he personally took himself, with his own camera.

Elvis is dead since 1977 and these so called friends are still making their living by selling memorabilia and old stories. Shame on them!

Marty needs the cash. Hell he hasn't really worked at anything constructive since the King's been gone. Give him a break the come over is now impossible what with only 3 long hairs remaining, so he needs the money for a nice hairpiece.

He is unemployed since 1977.

I'd say give the guy a break. Elvis thought enough of him to make him foreman and first choice as best man so he can't be all bad. He doesn't come across well in interviews but his life was almost ruined by his association with Elvis. He took nearly as much prescription medication as Elvis but was lucky enough to get off it. If he makes a few bucks to keep going, so what! He's no different to any of the other guys.
