Recently several new magazines arrived at our headquarters. Let’s have a look at them.
The King from Finland (2/2011) brings an interview with the Imperials (part 1) and an article on the connection between Elvis and Roy Hamilton. There’s also part to of a series on 1963. I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water gets the spotlight in “I saw the light” and the show in Atlanta on July 3, 1973 is the focus of “Elvis In Concert”. Of course the regulars are present too.
The latest issue of Elvis My Happiness (#76) from France starts with quite some pages with CD news before the focus goes to 1971. EMH wonders if that is the year of transition. The series writing for the King is continued and there’s an article (well decorated) on labels and sleeves. Letters, news and more reviews complete this issue.
Flaming Star from Norway (#65) is always a treat for the eye. Not only it is well designed, but most often it is filled with rare pictures. This issue is no exception. The magazine stars an article about Elvis on the piano. Besides the regular stuff there’s also an interview with Sonny West and a closer look on Harum Scarum.
Last but not least is the German Golden Boy Elvis (2/2011), another very well designed magazine. In “Songs from A to Z” Any Day Now, Anything and Apron Strings get a closer look. Then several in depth reviews are followed by “rumours about Elvis-songs”, this time starting with a G.
