Last week the mailbox got flooded with Elvis-related items: FTDs and magazines. First the magazines (while a FTD is playing).

Graceland

Graceland

Obviously something went wrong in the mail, but better late than never… the Graceland September/ October issue did arrive. It focusses on the European Elvis Festival in Bad Nauheim, the upcoming TCB band tour in Europe and continues the song lexicon. The main part of the magazine is reserved for Spinout, Elvis 22nd movie.

Flaming Star

Flaming Star

From Norway came the Christmas issue of this eye candy magazine. As always there are many great pictures (and some of them rare too), this time in articles on Kiss Me Quick (Pomus/ Shuman), Elvis & Christmas and a huge article on Roustabout. Even if you don’t understand the language, it’s worth browsing.

The Man And His Music

The Man And His Music

After all those years still the best Elvis-magazine content-wise. EMM (TMAHM) 114 brings of course great reviews, always a treat to read those. Luther Moore wrote an entertaining article on history that never was but could have been (sometimes) related to movies. Paul Richardson jumped into the relationship between Elvis, The Colonel and L.B. Johnson and finally there is the truth on the story behind Heartbreak Hotel.
