Appears to be a complete show. If the audio is good, it might be a worthwhile investment. No audience tape is mentioned. Thank you for small favors.

why cnat ftd or sony release this we all know they have it

Heck, I almost thought that this was a DVD. The packaging looks very good, and the show is complete. If the audio is decent, this will be a must have. I wish that FTD or BMG would release this material, but I've given up hope that it will ever happen. They want to protect his image, or so they say. Interestingly, Lisa Marie doesn't protect her own image at all. And how is it that products like the talking Elvis robot and the rubber ducky protect his image? Anyway, I'll most likely buy this CD.

This was the show CBS had to really search for a good performance from for their TV special. A very sad show, not one to watch or listen to. He should have been in a hospital instead of on a stage. I hope BMG never puts this out. I dare anyone to sit thru this and feel happy about it.

If this is the complete show then, from a historical standpoint only, this should be a very worthy title. Would someone let us know what the quality actually sounds like and is it really the complete show?

It`s true he didn`t look very healthy but his voice was great. No one in this world has exceeded. This is one of the 2 shows from the special i`ve seen in 77 and became Elvisfan. look at youtube "unchained melody" it`s so beautiful how Elvis look at the audience and to Charly one time.

I watch this show on DVD sometimes and feel happy afterwards, because it's a great show. He sings very well. It's a long show with interesting repertoire. You can see he's still enjoying himself and in control of the show and the audience. So I don't get all the drama from people, just because he o.d.'d 6 weeks later. In this show he's still alive and kicking. Maybe the make up guy did a bad job in accentuating his cheeks and making his face look more puffy. '77 was not a bad year, except for the fact that he died of course.

To "Mr. Wiebe" ; have you ever watched "That's the way it is" or "Elvis on tour" at all?! How on earth can anyone call this '77 performance a 'great show'?! And how can you contribute Elvis' poor appearance (compared to TTWII etc) to the make up man!???! Open your blinkered eyes and admit that this was a performance way below the standards of years previous. It's a fact.

Of course you cannot compare this with his performances. As you cannot compare the 50ies with TTWIW and OnTour or Aloha From Hawaii for that matter. We are looking at a man who is no more in his twenties or thirties. We all gain and so on. Admitting he also had serious trouble with his health etc. However though his performance was under par relating it to himself. Yet his voice, his amiable attitude, his humor etc. at the end of his life are incomparable to anything I have ever come across. At the end his voice was and still is soothing to hear. Yet, although it arouses a lot of tender caring and loving emotions seeing him (he has grown more and more like a very dear friend to me), I have to concur with many others that the show offers much more pleasure while only listening.

"'77 was not a bad year, except for the fact that he died of course", is exactly the kind of reasoning one has to undertake to find anything redeemable in the CBS Elvis In Concert project. It stands for all time as a record of an unmitigated tragedy. The poor man has lost his wife and most of his longstanding friends, is surrounded by opportunistic yes-men, looks too ill for words and his voice has a hollowness audible to anyone willing to hear it. "'77 was not a bad year, except for the fact that he died of course", indeed.

I'm wondering about the quality of this product though: why on earth did the “producers” use pics from the Omaha-show for their “artwork” instead of the actual show? Might be just the cynic in me, but my guess is that the band solos (the only audio from Rapid City that HASN'T been released before) are the ones from the Omaha-show too!

Don't buy this. Save your$. Elvis was definately out of it. Horrible packaging. Nothing to recommend this.

I disagree, graphics and style of cover remind me of the old Fort-Baxter format long book. In my opinion was really quite beautiful to have a true fans and collector. A great product.

Its not about how he sounded as it is about the fact he shouldnt have been on stage, and your never going to see a rela release of these shows!
