I am sick of these bootlegs being plugged on this site. Its all so sleezy and amateurish.

Yes give us more of that season in Lake Tahoe. I hope the sound is as good as The thunder in the night CD. I surely gonna buy it. Is Lake Tahoe part of Las Vegas ? Does it run under the name Vegas ? If not than it is a mistake on the backside of this Cd.

Gladyslove, haven't seen the cd so nt sure what you are referring to. But September 6th 1971, Elvis was definitely in Las Vegas. In fact it was the closing date of the August/September season. As far as I'm aware, Elvis only performed in Lake Tahoe (which is a different place to LV) in 1971 from Jul. 20 - Aug. 2 ie before the LV season. Think this was the first season in Tahoe.

stu - the site is free to use and called elvis news. So 1.) why complain about something you don't pay for and 2.) the release of an elvis cd is kinda well "news!"

SuziB, you are right. I thought Elvis was first in Las Vegas and after that in Lake Tahoe but it is, as you said it right, the other way. Thank you for that information.

Regarding bootlegs on Elvisnews.com: Like shaneleebrown say, this is an independent Elvis news/info site. While there are a few other good sites on the net regarding getting info about new bootlegs, the big "selling point" for this site is that it offers a wide range of news, everything from charts to "odd stories" from the mainstream press, official releases, DVDs, rumors and, yes, bootlegs. And especially news thats NOT covered on official sites (like Elvis.com) is particulary important to an independent site. And with this comment feature we can all freely express our opinion, both pro and against public releases as well as "imports". (Anyone know exactly WHY its called "imports", by the way?)

Shane I would prefer there to be an import page updated regularly rather than having them force fed all the time like now. As time goes on there is more and more of this product being featured on the site and for younger fans it can be quite confusing. EspenK, Imports is a dressed up name to try to give bootlegs more credibility.

Credit to the bootleggers (Import label) ! I applaude any and all Import labels, first of all (1) To say that bootleggers don't deserve credit for what we do is to say that you don't own an Import album, and NEVER WOULD. (2) It is also saying that you'll wait for the thousands of albums available on Import Labels to be released by RCA or FTD. (3) We're lucky to get anything new from RCA except for the one track they put on a cd filled with O L D material, and when we do it's like a horse that has traveled hundreds of miles for that drink of water. Just to have to be tortured again with more cd's with 1 or 2 tracks not released. (4) Imports give you an entire taste of UNRELEASED everytime, and not NEWLY DISCOVERED material, which we know for a fact parts of can be heard on certain released cd's (?). Again, "Hats Off to the Bootlegger" and I believe thanks are in order for the understanding of what the true fan wants......... EVERYTHING, ALL OF IT, MORE, MORE, MORE Not just a tease. Hawk

I didn't mention anything about credibility and, didn't give an opinion about the worthiness of bootleg releases because I really don't care either way. I just think this site is being swamped by them to the detriment of official releases. Still, I suppose everyones got to make a living somehow.

By 1971 the pure stage power of the Vegas performances the year before was gone. The shows were solid but uninspired. He wasn´t very talkative...over 150 Vegas shows made all turn into a routine. Anyway...opening and closing shows were always better than the rest of it.
