While some may love this release,id not say its best yet,i am buying this one as i buy all ftds',but i am much more looking forward to more outtakes from 70 and also a outtake disc from 71,i know some would call it crazy ,but 68 special is not my favorite,i know it put him back on the map,but so did his 56 stuff and thats not my favorite either, to each is own, and something for everybody!ernst ernst next release is outtake disc from 70,71 isnt it?

I certainly agree with mature_elvis, I hope there's more left in the vaults because this doesn't do it for me. I'm awaiting some real sensitive historical and musical material to be released..

I'll buy this one eventually. But right now I'm burnt out on the '68 "Comeback". I'm not going too listen to or watch anything connected with this period for at least six months.

Jerry, Jerome, and Victor Marture, y'all have to take a break and re-group: complaining about the release of what is pretty much the last of the landmark '68 special is beyond galling. Get a grip , fellas!

Greg: I'm not complaining. I think it's a great release. It just that after the deluxe DVD, which was followed by the single disc I'm burnt out on this stuff. I would have preferred something else at this time that's all. I'm "Comebacked" out. I'm glad it's out. But I'll buy it later.

Greg for the last freakin time, im not complaining, did you read my whole post or did you just see that this isnt my fav release, with every release ,someone is going to wish it was something else,go back and read my post, the whole post,it said something for everybody, not my fav but others may love this release,so that should tell you that i understand we all wont like every release as much as the other person, personally i dont get people who go on and on about complainers when its those people who moan about people just giving a oppion! get a grip indeed!

Nothing personal, Mature', but as much as we're "all entitled to an opinion," not all opinions, even about music, are necessarily equally valid. We may proclaim that, but the reality is that if someone puts down the Sun Sessions or "Elvis Is Back!" or the '68 Special, be prepared for criticism, from fans and non-fans. To complain about the release of outtake material from one of the pivotal parts of Elvis' career strikes me as ungrateful or just a case of thinking out loud, which is what the internet encourages... FTD has a way of hitting all the bases, so any complaining about the more important sessions strikes me that way. To each his own, indeed, and no hard feelings.

I agree with JerryNodak. While this may be a good release, after the deluxe DVD edition I cant get that excited about hearing the same type of outtakes on CD! I will wait a while and only buy it for the dressing room rehearsals that I only have on bootleg. I hate to keep paying high prices for FTD releases that I am only half thrilled about.

My points are just as valid as yours are, something for everybody,i said that ,did you read that, see that means that maybe this release doesnt thrill but me,but another future release as well as some great past releases will and have thrilled me,so were in all that does it give you idea that im complaining? and if i dont like 68 special which i never said i didnt, then so be it,yes we give oppions, isnt that what you just did,or think out loud as you like to call it,i buy all the ftd's so your doing no more to support the label than i am,no hard feelings but am bit tired of the complaining comments, its not like i said oh no here we go again another crappy release! chill pill anyone?

I think that this release is great. In the past the bootlegs had the better artwork, but the sound could mostly not meet the standard of a official label release. With this release we have now both. The artwork meets the better bootleg standard, and we have the best sound there is. I agree with a lot of you guys, this is one of the best covers ever!! Keep on going FTD......
