Landmarker Designates Where Elvis Stopped A Street Fight

October 28, 2007 | Other
On the corner of Highway 51 and East Washington Avenue in Madison, a plaque has been unveiled to remember a bizar and unusual event. On June 24 1977, Elvis - who just came back from a concert - ordered the driver os his limo to stop when he saw two teens beating up a young boy. Elvis went over, and wanted to confront the two teens: "I'll take you on right now". Stunned by who was standing next to him, the two teens immediately stopped their fight. Eventually, the three of them posed for a picture and Elvis drove off again, happy that he stopped this senseless fight. Both the driver and an eyewitness have now told their story to ABC.

What the clip didnt point out was that Elvis was still in his jumpsuit at the time.

Elvis in a jumpsuit stoppin a street fight in june "77, -that´s really heavy!! ;) With the sense of humour he had, I can almost see his grin of satisfaction afterwards. In a way it reveals an effort to end "fights and trouble" generally around him, wishing he could do the same with the attacks in his own life.

I'm all for honoring Elvis but, this is joke. The aloha statue in Hawaii by T.V. Land .great but, this is ludicrous.Whats' next a bathroom stall in Vegas that has a plaque that reads Elvis took a dump here.Let's get real people. He was a man not,GOD
