Jerry Schilling Writing

I've always respected Jerry (I have no time for the rest of the Memphis Mafia) as he was the only one who appeared to be honest with Elvis on a consistant basis (Although, of course I wasn't actually there). Also to his credit is the way he has maintained the same story of his life with Elvis, as opposed to the other morons who spent their entire time jockeying for position in the Elvis circle, and since his death have added, embelished and fabricated stories to sell another book the minute their bank balances get a bit low. I think Jerry's book will be a breath of fresh air, he comes across as a level headed, and most importantly, honest man who has not exploited the fans in the shameless way the rest of the crew have. One little tip Jerry: don't let it be the sanitized, rose coloured white wash that "Elvis by the Presleys" was. Keep it real, and it'll be well worth waiting for.

I heard about this last Friday on Elvis Radio when George klein was interviewing JS. GK is also writing a book I think scheduled for next year.

Good! I hope many of them will follow and write whatever they remember about Elvis. There will come a day when those books will be a great historical source for other fans to come (and those who are here today off course).

I will look forward to reading Jerry's book as he has always struck me as someone who played it straight all along. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of some others...

I agree with Viva Jerry Shilling I think is the only one who's been straight to the point on certain issues concerning Elvis's Life and music it would certainly be worth the read.

i'm very skeptable about jerry releasing yet another book,as he has contradicted himself in the past concerning finding elvis' dead body in 1977!;in one book he claimed he actualy found elvis lying dead on the bathroom floor and noticed syringes and tablets all over tthe floor..in another boook he claims he heard about the tragic death of elvis on his car radio,whilst driving te car!..making money seems to be the point here?.

Jerry is a good friend of Priscilla, as "Elvis by the Presleys" makes clear, as do Jerry's stories of his experiences with Elvis and Priscilla in the past. I would guess this book might in part be further support for Priscilla to back her future projects, just as "Elvis by the Presleys" was used heavily by Priscilla for her own publicity. And to Kempo, Jerry hasn't written abook about Elvis before.

I thought that myself Chris C I knew I had never read anything jerry wrote. But whats left to tell, I think the elvis story is well and truly played out.Am I wrong?

I think the only one who truly truly cares about Elvis are the fans and his daughter Lisa. Jerry and priscilla are obviously close friends I thought jerry wrote the book Elvis the Final years(could be wrong). Priscilla is concerned about the Elvis Image and thinks the fans should not have elvis in Concert because the way he looks. Yet she helps the movie Elvis in me claiming rape a fat broken singer acting strange but she is concerned for his image "PLEASE HIS MONEY MORE LIKE IT, I KNOW LISA RUNS EPE NOW OR UP UNTIL A LITTLE WHILE AGO BUT THE EX TO THE KING MADE DECISIONS MANY YEARS.) Jerry shows up in the last special which I have heard different views from him to he is writing the book for money plain and simple true or not and we will give it to him because i buy anything Elvis almost and How in the world did Priscilla , Jerry and priscilla's parents stay so close knit in Elvis's life It never ends no wonder the king is dead the vampires sucked him dry. Out of all the Elvis hangers-on, I had the most respect for Jerry Schilling because he was the one person who did not sell out Elvis and who remained the most honorable to his memory all these years. Now he's writing a book - joining the ranks of so many others who sucked all the life and death out of Elvis. I just hope the book is as honorable and respectful to Elvis. Heavens knows we don't need another twisted, sad, trashy, sorridly detailed piece of junk they call a book that others have written and capitalized on. Integrity and loyalty - two things Elvis always demanded from all his hangers-on - sadly wasn't realized upon his death.
