Will James Burton be the first Elvis sideman to get a statue? It certainly looks like it. The James Burton International Fan Club invites fans to honor James and his contributions to the music industry. To celebrate James’s career as a legendary guitarist, the JB Fanclub is seeking donations to commission a bronze statue of James, to be installed at the historic Municipal Auditorium (home of the Louisiana Hayride) adjacent to the Elvis statue. Contributions of $ 1,000 and up will be memorialized with the donor’s name engraved in the base of the statue.
